I don’t think Europeans should have any say in US policy (except the Pope). 9Its OUR country NOT theirs) Afghanistan was the Taliban's country, and they sheltered bin Laden and al Qaida. So you're either saying we shouldn't have had a say in THEIR policy or you're a hypocrit. <TABLE cellpadding

This whole situation really has me worried about the stability of Eastern Europe. The Ukraine could potentially collapse into civil war over this. Even if it doesn’t turn into all-out war, civil strife on a massive scale is a very real possibility. What really worries me is how Russia could potentially use this situation as a pretext to send troops into the country. If there’s one thing that freaks Russia out more than Chechens getting a nuke, it’s NAT

And I don't remember Clinton leading us to war under false pretences and bad intellegance. I do remember the Republican Congress fighting him tooth-and-nail when he did take us to war for humanitarian reasons. Funny how some things change...

*Sigh* You know what? Forget it. I'm not going to try and keep people from going nuts over a joke they didn't find funny. I found it funny. I laughed because of course something like that would never happen. And of course it was a bitter joke. That's pretty much all we liberals have at the moment to consol us. If this joke really makes you feel bad, go look on the web for some jokes at liberal's expense, read them, laughl, and move the hell on

I'll just get this off of my chest quickly and leave you all to your freaking out: IT WAS A JOKE!!!!! Like when Democrats say we wand to move to Canada or secede from the union. We have this thing called a sense of humor; it help us deal with defeat. And as Democrats, we definatly need something to help (see! There that humor thing was again!). <TD cl

First of all, what happened during Clinton cannot be compared to today. I am being very rationale. For one, during the Clinton era, the democrat power in the Congress grew weaker. Democrats lost seats. In addition, Clinton was not able to stop the transformation of the south toward Republicans (state level). The south was increas

Hmmm...nope, not gonna happen. But I'm sure it's a nice dream for you to have. I'm fairly sure there were people simular to you on the left who thought something much the same after Clinton won his second term. But no. The Democrats will restructure, rebuild, and come back to retake power, hold it for a while, then it'll go back to the Republicans after they restructure and rebuild. It's kind of a cycle thing.

Yep, lost to Davids. I was disapointed, but at the same time it was neat to come so close. Next time! (that's what I said last time) And I don't know why these threads don't have more activity. I guess a non-partisan one might turn up more. I just never really cared who knew my party affiliation. It would come out anyway when people looked at the candidates I marched in parades for, had bumper stickers for, or wrote letters to the editor in su

I'm fairly active in the local Democratic party. Of course, here in Minnesota it's the Democratic-Farmer-Labor party. I was conveener and chair of the Chatfield Township caucus, a delegate to the Fillmore County DFL Convention, and a delegate to the DFL State Convention in Duluth. This was only the second time I've been this active, since I'm only 20. Also, I did a lot of work for a local DFL candidate for State House. We only lost by 400 votes in a he
