Ahh. It's gonna take a little getting use to. Here's something that's a bit awkward (unless I misunderstand what's going on). In the discussion window, I had the the Logical Falacies thread opened (in the bottom portion of the window). The Logical Falacies thread was updated with a new post (saw it in the top portion of the window). However, the bottom window (the web control) was not updated. I therefore had to use the web control's context menu to refresh the page.<b

In the previous fully web based version I used the context menu to refresh the list. Granted, that was annoying (as opposed to just looking at the message board page in a browser complete with a refresh button) but it worked. However, the new version is not web-based (which IMHO is a good idea), but I have no idea how to refresh the discussion list. Does it do it automatically? <img src="http://images.stardock.

That's well and good, but we shouldn't do away with XPtheme files. What if I actually want one physical file that contains all the themes? But this leads to another question. IIRC, Winstyles doesn't have a way of just applying a theme in which you already have its skins installed. Instead, each time I apply a theme, it unpacks it from the XPtheme file and reapplies it, which is tedious. I'd like the ability to have it just switch to the (exisiting) skins of the approriate apps.

Actually, I agree with Alexandrie. While providing an authorized version may satisfy some, that doesn't really solve the overall problem which is really an issue of behavior and skill. If you look at the various threads at the other place, you'll see that many are not satisfied with a standard port. They'll want to modify it regardless of the intent of the original artist. Providing an approvied port will exacerbate the problem by providing them with yet more fodder (in an even

Feline, a preposition is word which is used to link nouns and stuff in a sentence: The dog is ON the chair. Mary is WITH John. Here's a helpful simple web page: http://www.uottawa.ca/academic/arts/writcent/hypergrammar/preposit.html

I think I also remember reading in that book that the reason we aren't supposed to end sentences with a preposition was that a long time ago some monk or such arbitrarly made that rule.

Brad, is that book's full title "The Mother Tongue: English and How it got that Way"? I remember many many years ago reading a book of that title. It was a wonderful book.

SF writer David Brin has a web page deveoted to critiquing Star Wars. He even mentions the the ROTJ issue that Frogboy raised, namely that the Luke/Vader/Emperor subplot had no real bearing on the overall Death Start plot. What's interesting is that Brin says this is a GOOD thing (you'll have to read his thoughts on this to understand were he's coming from on this). http://www.kithrup.com/brin/starwarsarticle.html <A HREF="https://www.wincustomize.com/index.asp?Cmd=full

Ahhh. DesktopX themes require DesktopX. You can download a shareware version of it here: http://www.desktopx.net/download.html. It costs $19.95 if you wish to purchase it (or if you want to use Stardock's other apps you can get an ObjectDesktop subscription which'll give you DesktopX, WindowsBlinds, ObjectBar and a bunch of other stuff). I don't have WindowsXP so unfortunately I don't know if Win98 screen savers will work with Windows XP. BTW, if you want to see some c

Forgot to mention that there are no screen savers on this site. We may be able to better help you if you tell us what you downloaded.

Harold, each theme/skin you download requires a specific application. For instance If you downloaded a WindowBlinds skin (which changes your windows, i.e. title bar, sroll bars and so on) you need WindowBlinds: http://www.windowblinds.net. For each library category (WindowBlinds, NextStart,Object Bar) there's an about section at the top of the web page that contains a link to the appropriate application's web site. <A HREF="https://www.wincustomize.com/index.asp?Cmd=fu

I''ve always thought that the scenario you described, metaservices, is inenvitable with regards to the net. It just makes too much sense. This is akin to paying X number of dollars to your cable TV provider or dish provider for a certain group of channels. The cable TV provider in turn makes deals directly with the channel/content providers. Sure you could probably pay the content providers directly (as I believe some dish users do) but at perhaps a higher cost since you''re not leverag
