When updating an application on windows 11 computer the application gets removed from the Start11 start menu both as a pinned item and under "All Apps". The "work around" of restarting explorer will refresh the list of applications however the 'work around is no good if the end user does not have admin rights on the machine in question, other wise it requires intervention from someone who does. I don't know what else to say? I know when I signed up it was for a 2 year subscription? I didn't just pull this out of a hat? Oh well, guess there will be one less paying member.
Its salsedock that sent me an email notifying me it was about to expire that sparked this all? This is why I'm on here asking to see if there is anybody else having the same issue? Or if they changed the suscriptions shortly after I signed up.
yes I kept my receipt but it makes no refs to how long the subscription is.
Yes but all the receipt says is when I paid and how much. Nothing about how long the subscription was for. I've found countless websites that make refs to wincustomize and $19.95 for the 2 year subscription. Has this subscription changed after I ordered it and if so shouldnt my subscription still be valid? Even used an archive site to look at old webpages and found one from wincustomize itself showing a ad from around the time I signed up, for 2 year s
I started out with Object desktop liked it and then got Wincustomize browser with 2 year subscription. When I purchased my WinCustomize Subscription back in November of 2004 it was a 2 year Subscription. However now I'm getting emails from them stating subscription is expiring. I emailed them back stating that it was a 2 year subscription, and shouldn't be over for another year,? But now they are saying the initial subscription is one year and only ren
Thank you Sir Bichur you were right on the button. Not quite sure why it started loading and applying a skin after I did the update in stardock central? Anyway, problem solved. Thanks for all your help everyone. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/wc/icons/wc.gif" border=0 alt="Posted via WinCustomize Browser/Stardock
I've gone through the settings everywhere in Windowblinds to stop it from loading with windows? Did they change that in the last update cause I cant find it anywhere? As for SDMCP.exe starting up, unchecking "MCP smart startup" by itself didn't do it but when I unchecked "MCP area support" as well, that did the trick. But how do I stop windowblinds from starting up with windows. Since I did the last update it has taken over my computer. <br
You advice didn't help. Its still starting up in the background. Not only that but window blinds is loading when windows starts as well. I purchased object desktop as a curiosity more than anything. I've had it for some time now, but since the last upgrade it has taken over my system. Cant seem to stop it from loading? Not impressed? Little invasive to say the least. Seeing as I haven't used it since Christmas, with the exception of updating all the so
thank you, thank you, thank you....
I don't have any stardock products loading when my computer starts up. I don't currently have any customizations on my computer, I've removed them all. I've gone into the start up in my start menu, I've gone into "run" area of the registry. I've looked every where I can think of to find where SDMCP.EXE is starting up on my computer. I don't want it to start it up? Can somebody please tell me how to stop this from starting up with my computer everytime
Not sure if this will help or not? Hope it does. Without more info on your problem I don't know what else to say, you can try some more tech related forums on the net for help maybe? Do you still have the problem when you unskin your system? If it only occurs when you use that skin then I don't think it is a problem with Rundll32.exe. I'm assuming your using Win XP? So this applies to Win Xp only! It could be that you have a missing or corrupted Rundll32.exe file. This issue ma
The Lyco spam fighting screensaver (www.makelovenotspam.com) has been removed and is no longer available. Lycos has stopped this controversial product. Read about it on CNET news here: http://news.com.com/Lycos+Europes+antispam+tool+no+longer+available/2100-7349_3-5476451.html So much for that idea.... [Message Edited]
Everything seems to be working fine now? Using the WC browser right now to enter this. All discussions work in both Stardock central and WC browser.
My stardock central is working ok now, but I still can't seem to get the wc-browser to stop crashing. Was having a problem with the stardock central crashing when I went into either WC-help or WC-skinning under the discussions area. However I solved that problem by going into "C:\Program Files\stardock\SDCentral\discussion" and deleting the WC-help and WC-skinning ini files. Then restarted SD central and went back into each allowing SD central to download new INI files. But I still can't figure
Actually what the screen saver does is send HTTP request to the spammers websites (without actually loading or viewing the site) causing the spammers bandwidth to increase and network to slow down. They claim it will do this and monitor its rate so as not to take their sites down completely, as this would constitute a denial of service attack. The idea is to increase the cost of the spammers bandwidth use and make life harder for them. Morally is it right or wrong? I guess thats up for
