Hey, I just purchased Warlords Batllecry 3 over impulse, and I'm having some problems. It seems that all random sripts in the game are messed up. Every "random" item is the same. Every shop sells the same item no matter what. Every "random" quest is the same, your spells allways fail unless you have 100% to cast (example - a spell with a 95% chance to cast will always fail). ect... -I know this isn't an inate problem with the game as I played it a long time ago. After searching the we

I think it would be pretty cool if EWOM had alternative planes you could explore and colonize, though this might be a moot point if the normal game worlds themselves are as large as it seems they will be.

Indeed. I love Civ 4, but there are a few things that really bug me about the game. One is way borders function. The way the cultural influence works makes since, but I wish that game had both "Cultural" borders (that function as they do now for influence), AND "Political" borders that deteremined the actual control of various tiles. --I agree with the above poster that holding conquests should be difficult (Especially for cities that have differend races a.k.a if a Fallen empire

Ya, I remember them talking about this in one of the journals or interview or something. They mentioned a few Non-military ways to win. The ones I remember are as follows: 1) Each Soverign in the game has their own personal quests, and you win if you complete yours. More than likely several different of the Soverigns goals will overlap preventing this from being too easy. 2) I think I remember them saying something about being able to win by allying with every remaining factio

Every TBS I've ever played has suffered from the same problem. At some point, maybe half way through or later the player either knows he has won, or knows he has lost. It seems to be in the nature of the genre that once a certain point is reached victory is either guaranteed, or defeat is inevitable. I'm hoping Elemental is the game that can break this trend, and find a healthy alternative to the "mop up" phase, and give player some insentive to continue playing, and keep things interesting r

My problem with, and the reason I didn't buy, DoW II is because it seems like they just updated the graphics to choke $50 more dollars out of us. I loved the original and expansions, but don't realese a new game and take out everything that the expansions added for crying out loud (I WANT MY DAMN NECRONS BACK!). Whats even more annoying is that the expansions were stand alone, so they could charge $40 for those...AND require that you have your cd key for the others just to use those races to

Hey, this is a request for a journal entry that details some of the games RPG elements. This is one part of the game that we have yet to hear anything significant about...and one that I am most curious about. We know your leader can gain levels and learn spells, but how does he do this? Do you get a certain amount of XP for killing units and completing quests? How in depth is the character development and customization going to be? How does the essence gain work, and what exactly do you do wi

Ya, I hope there isn't much of a direct connection with Gal Civ. I just don't think that magic and sci fi have much buisness being in the same continuity. An examble of how it has worked though is Warhammer 40k, which might be what they are going for...but even that has hardly any magic + Gal Civ story line has nothing to do with magic. I just don't think it would make since for them to go..."and ya, magic has been part of Gal Civ all along, you just didn't know about it?!?" edit: Som

Well I reloaded the first time it triggered because I didn't understand why the event happened to me. The second time I loaded to test out prolonging the event which actually worked for a little bit. I was able to hold them off when it finnally triggered again because of three reasons. 1) the Thalans, though they were the most powerful, hadn't researched planetary invasion. They had declared war on an ally of mine before the event fired, so I was able to moblize and not only fend them o

So could you give them a PQ 4 planet, Conquer their other planet, and then then wait for that planet to become PQ 21, and then give them another PQ 4 and strike again taking the new PQ 21...then rinse, wash, repeat? or does the planet become PQ4 again once you take it?

I am running the latest version out (TA 2.02). I think I know what caused it though. I hit the turn button, and then remebered I forgot to do something, so I tried to load when it was in the middle of doing the end of turn stuff. Then when it loaded I couldn't move any ships. I tried loading again, and loading different saves, but all were like this. Thats why I thought the saved game was currupt. I was pretty frustrated, so I didn't get back to the game for a little bit, but it seems the pro

I didn't think about giving them a crappy planet. I think I'll give that a try (In my next game, only one minor left in this one...thanks largely to me [e digicons]O:)[/e] )

hmmm, I tried to load again later after restarting the game, and it seemed to work...this is still a bug, but it doesn't corrupt saved games...at least not permanently.

I This the techs you are refering to are the terraforming techs. Some planet tiles are initially unusable, but once you research those techs you can build the improvements that let you use the tiles. Example you have a planet of PQ 11, and it has 2 yellow tiles you can't use yet. Then you research soil enrichment. Then you build soil enrichment on those two tiles. Once those are build the PQ of the planet will be 13. Then you can use the tiles normaly. the same goes for the other two techs do

Great....yet another one my game is ruined because of corrupted save games. This time for some reason ALL of my saved games got corrupted somehow. Whenever I load a game no ships have any life support...aka they can't move...I don't understand why the hell there are still problems with saved games. I've had problems with this since the game first came out. I can't tell you how many games have have been ruined because of corrupted saved game files...please, will someone take a look at the save

I had a similar problem in the game I'm playing right now. Very close to the begining of the game the Korx were at war with the Thalans. After a short period of time they surrendered to me(Terrans). This didn't make since as the Thalans, though superior to the Korx, didn't have planetary invasion, So I fail to see why they surrendered.

So interesting side note. I loaded to the save before the event triggered the second time. It presumably triggered again because I conquered the Dark Yor minor race...I guess I didn't learn. Here is whats weird though. I loaded, and conquered a different minor...and the event DIDN'T occur?!? I had been preparing to attack them beacue they had two different economy resources I desperatly wanted. So Some how conquering another minor has prolonged when the even will occur. I'm going to send out

So...the even triggered again...and I was in a war with the Thalans...I have three allies now so I might be able to pull through. Before the event triggered The Thalans attacked one of my allies, so I got most of the rest of races to attack the Thalans as well..and then it triggered so now there is me and my aliies, and then everyone else is at war with me and the Thalans LoL. It is quite strange. I can win though if the Drengins and Drath focus on the Thalans.

I suppose it was the non-mega event then, because it did say "the war is expanding". What is different between that one, and the mega event. Possibly because the Yor have defeated a minor race as well. P.s. It's been many turns, and the event hasn't retrigered, so I'll probly be ok. I realized I'm the only one with planetary invation, so I don't think It would be that big of a deal if it did trigger again.

25 Replies 14,599 Views

I did infact conquer a minor...but the Thalans have conquered the Korx...so shouldn't that make them even more of a target. Also I have 3 military resources and the Korx surreneder to me when they lost to the Thalans, so that could be a contribution as well. I loaded from a few turns before, and the event hasn't triggered yet, so maybe I'll have some more time to prepare.

Ok, Some really lame just happened. I'm playing as Terran Alliance (2.02) and suddenly the mega event occurs were the others decide I'm too big of a treat and all declare war on me....this is really stupid as I'm not even the most powerful. The Thalans are beating me in every category except population, and production...They have way more research and their economy is larger...What can I do about this? I have a save from a few turns before, but why is this happening at all? They are #1 in alm
