Thanks a bunch for that sranshaft , that's a very helpful guide.
Here's my current screen Wallpaper from www.liquisoft.com. I added various DesktopX widgets to complement the design but make it a functional desktop. WindowBlinds theme is Sinter by Essorant.
I have a friend who got a wrapped packet of pasta last year. She said it was cool but it was one of the weirdest Christmas presents I've ever heard of.
Hiya BloodSin , this might help you out if you want to create bootskins... http://www.skinning.net/viewtopic.php?t=391 .
Good going Nick! Good idea to set goals and work towards them... I'm sure you'll accomplish what you set out to do but if you need any help along the way I'm always around and willing to help where I am able. Cheers... <img src="http://images.stardock.com/wc/smiles/Congra
Making a bootskin isn't that hard at all Amokima , provided you have the right tools. I created a tutorial a while ago which should be able to help you out. It currently resides at Link at the Skinning.net forums. I hope that helps.
Hey T-Man. I've had a few issues for a while also. I haven't posted earlier because I hoped it would be resolved before I had to trouble you. Anyways, I've tried to upload some stuff to the ObjectDock | Dock Icons section ( using the www server, of course ) but have always been met with a " Page cannot be displayed. " error after it seemingly goes through the process of uploading the file. I've tried many, many times
Great idea Brad!
I think the reason Stardock haven't come up with vector support yet is becuase they're limited by the operating system. Everyone is forced to use bitmapped graphics to create skins and interfaces for Windows, that's why you don't see any other comapanies having skinning applications with vector support. It's also a big reason why Longhorn is so eagerly awaited. A vectored interface will look a lot cleaner and sharper and should open up a whole ne
I think upping the shield levels is a very good idea. 1000 is indeed way too easy to attain. Setting the initial shield to 10k would encourage new skinners to create quality works to begin with, in order to attain these shields. These in turn, will mean happier users and serve to proliferate the use of software featured on WC. Once you raise the bar, the quality of skins will more than likely improve
ScottK You know, even if they are crappy looking (which quite clearly they're not), DesktopX gives you the ability to easily create your own widgets and objects. You can create your own images and add your own functions to them quite easily. To come to the home of DesktopX and begin insulting its creators and contributors and putting down the software seems rather childish to me. By your own behaviour it seems y
Well, it seemingly goes through the process of uploading the file and info, then once it's done all I get is a "This page cannot be displayed." error page. And it always happens. The file or upload aren't added, stored or displayed on the WC system at all. Not sure what it could be.
Another set of icons I was unable to add to the WC ObjectDock Icons section. It just doesn't like me much. Anyways, as before, you can download it from my DevArt gallery ( Link ). Preview: <img src="http://fs5.deviantart.com/i/
Ok, after several futile attempts at trying to upload these to the ObjectDock Icons section of Wincustomize, all which were met with a "This page cannot be displayed." error, I've decided to just link it here. I've uploaded it to my DeviantArt gallery so you can get them now. As soon as I'm able to figure out the problem and/or able to upload it to
Sparkly White !
Good stuff Shawn. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/wc/smiles/congrats.gif" border=0 ALIGN=
Ok, I have 2 left... email me if you want them. [email protected]
If you receive invites please edit your posts and let those who are giving them out know that you don't need any more. Just makes things easier. Thanks.
Looking good guys. Can't wait for the other new features you'll be adding. Great stuff!
I have a few to give away also. Email me at [email protected] if you want one.
From what I know, they're the sizes of the original files that came with Windows and remember someone telling me that taller or wider dimensions don't work. But as an alternative you can also use Flash to create your animations, then export it as AVI, import it into GIF Movie Gear using the Import from AVI since Flash doesn't do RLE8 AVIs, then re-export it as AVI from GIF Movie Gear. Voilá. Works great.
wcefan , what version is it and did you only recently install it?
I had the same problem the other day. I didn't find any way of doing it so I went back to the old site. Perhaps it's not implemented on WC2K5 yet.
I've added an icon pack for Instant Messaging applications available at http://www.deviantart.com/view/12761218/ Enjoy.
