My XP Pro system is just humming right along, so I won't miss Vista but do plan to upgrade. My Pentium D 830 ought to be able to handle it! I would rather wait until they get it right before I spend big bucks on the OS than just to have it crash...

Wow...this is exciting! I built my own PC specifically to be used with MCE 2005. Unfortunately I had to search Google to get a legit OEM Copy of the OS but I must say it works great. I was using ATI's All In Wonder software which is so lame and didn't work half the time. MCE is in my view the way to go...

After updating my SDC to latest. WB5 shows as version 4.95 but when you install it then it shows as Version 5...??? Beta 1 corrupted my system and I had to reformat (thank goodness for backups) and I was leary of installing Beta 2 (WB5), so I took the plunge and updated but it would not update properly until I went back to SDC and unloaded it then redownloaded then it installed correctly. Ok I'm running WB5 but it is pretty buggy! I guess that's why it's called Beta! I'm running a Pentium D 3.0 Ghz with 1 Gig of DDR2 667Mhz Corsair RAM with the Asus Skin using an NVIDIA GeForce 6200 TurboCache PCI-E Card 256 MB RAM. All the dialog boxes that were skinned under WB4.6 were okay but not skinning under WB5. I'll attempt one more reboot then fall back to WB4.6 if it's not fixed. <img src="http://images.stard

Nice article Brad. I totally agree with you on these topics. Please make our voice heard when you go see these guys. I often find that MS doesn't know how to bundle stuff very well anyway. I always buy third party software to do my chores. MS needs to focus on a superb and stable OS that we can be proud to say we run Windows! Can't wait to read your findings! <im
