Yeppp... now I'm pretty damn sure it's a rip, I'm looking at it on the wall at the moment.
Hell Dragon
Wow MobiusCo, 10k - 20k hits a day? that's great... congratulations dude. My site is self-funded as well by the way... there really isn't anything to do apart from pay the domain fees really, as I have managed to place it on my ISP's free webspace which is 'unlimited' (very handy)
Just letting the admins know that I think this wallpaper is a rip: https://www.wincustomize.com/skins.asp?library=8&SkinID=1697 I've seen it before in various poster shops, and I think my friend even has it on his wall in his room... I seriously doubt the guy is the original creator, but if he is then I apologise, however why would he be uploading it to a free download site if he has world-wide commercial poster contracts? <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/sm
"looking for a highly skilled and motivated icon artist to design a set of 50 button icons for our highly anticipated new email client, Chamaileon." Hmmmm.. to be very honest with you your looking at $300 - $500 for that work, depending on the size and complexity of the icons, and the iconists's personal rates, which vary a lot. If your lucky you may find someone who is just starting out and wants to 'showcase' his work as you have mentioned. However, if someone if just startin
Hmmm... I normally get about 350 - 500 hits a day, but it varies, not bad I guess for a personal site. Mind you, it has been around for nearly 2 years now... also traffic has been steadily increasing in the last couple of months. Every time I release something new on the front page, the hits go up quite a bit, and then slowly fall again until my next release. I have to say it is a great feeling to know so many people actually check out my work on a daily basis, and I've had vis
Check this link out: http://www.gamani.com/foricons/ It is a new tool for creating 32bit XP icons, supporting the new alpha blending technology in XP.... you can even take a PhotoShop PSD file and import that into the software... cool stuff
Thanks Jafo hmmm... I just checked the guy's submitted skins here: http://scripts.wincustomize.com/skins.asp?AuthorID=4984 and I believe the wallpaper he has there is also a rip, from a tutorial in 3D Studio 4! this guy is unbelievable, hmmmm... I'd keep an eye on him
I just checked out on of the Top 10 icon packages: http://scripts.wincustomize.com/skins.asp?library=2&SkinID=698 'Patchwork' and it apears to be a collection of other artists icons. I found one of Scrow's icons in there, along with some Copland, and A LOT of them are DigitalGarage.net's Glass icons http://www.digitalgarage.net/downloads/_glassicons.zip The user may have got permission, but I doubt it, and he hasn't stated so anywhere... so I reckon it's a ripped package from a
Actually guys, I'm looking for a skin, maybe you can help me... I think it was called BritneyXP2000 or something, it had a picture of Britney with this cool blue background with floating silver Aqua balls over a mountain landscape sunset with dolphins flying around... yeah and loads of cool binary written up the side, with a big blue swirly thing in the middle with 2 big lens flares in her eyes, oh yeah... man this thing was AWESOME! Know where I can find it? <img src="http://i
Moderation creates goals and challenges, this leads to better wallpapers, better artists, and ultimately gives the site a better 'reputation' all round.
That is true Frogboy, however it could be done so that you wouldn't be able to download directly from the Portal. The user would have to visit the skin's page and download from there, hence bringing in the user to browse the rest of the site etc... The Portal would mainly be for users who would like a quick 'overview' of the current state of the community, news, latest downloads, featured skins etc... all in one simple glance. ... so at the end of the day it might actu
I just had an idea, Do any of the current skin sites have public 'backend' files either in PHP or ASP that we can access? I know Deskmod used to have one, and I thought DeviantART did as well, but I can't find it anymore... What about winCustomize and the others? Basically if all the major sites created one, someone could fairly easily create a fully functional Skinning Portal, with things like 'last 10 submissions' and 'featured skin' for each of the sites... all in o
Hi (h) interj. Informal Used to express greeting. Sorry just had to do it
In my humble opinion, I think the current moderation 'standard' should be raised... dramatically.
check out: http://www.virtualplastic.org/html/logo_thr.html for some info on what you need. As AJCrowley mentioned you can't get animated BMP's, you need to put a series of them together to form the animation... However, this program: http://www.dezina.com/bitstrip/ will allow you to convert an animated .gif to a series of BMP's.
I think he might be complaining that his work is 'disapearing' after a couple of days on the site... This is of course due to people RATING it low and it not appearing and being hidden for most users, including himself, so he thinks the admins are deleting it in some way. MADMETZI: Your work is not being deleted my friend, it is being 'filtered' for quality... by the users, that's all.
always wanted to do that

Found one at: http://www.cyberaddicts.net/TYPETEST.shtml I'll post my score in a couple of mins... gotta warm my fingers up
120? damn that's fast... I dunno, I guess I'm around 60 or 70 words a min... maybe more, not sure. Anyone got a link to a Java or Javascript speed test website that we could all use to test ourselves?
Sorry Deft, I did a bit of research on gnxonline.com and it looks like they are a little 'risky' to say the least, A search on the web and on groups.google.com showed up various users who have been totally ripped off and never refunded... so I think I'll give them a miss but thanks for mentioning them, they did seem good at first. I have also recently found Aletia Hosting http://www.aletiahosting.c
check out: https://www.stardock.com/products/iconpackager/downloads.html dude.
hmm... I have also found: CWIHosting http://www.cwihosting.com/ which seems to offer some a pretty nice deal for $15/month. Has anyone heard anything about them? By the way, I'm basically looking for some PHP/MySQL Linux hosting with over 100MB webspace and over 10GB bandwidth/month, with a price under $15/month, also reliablity and support are also fairly important. Which hosts do you guys out there use that have PHP based sites? Thanks.
