Hehe good you managed to see the revision. Hope you had the version you expected.. ~SDC~

You might want to go to tools -> settings and tick the "Show application revision" checkbox ~SDC~
Currently you can, from inside of the game, only see the "main patch level" (dunno what to call it) in the options menu. Mine says 1.01 On SDC you can see which minor patch level you are at. Mine says 1.01a.030 ~SDC~
Necro: I had an issue on my work PC, but that I managed to resolve by downloading and installing the SDC from the download page at the website. After that it autoupdated itself to the right version, and the GalCiv update was visible. ~SDC~
You just need to run SDC with the parameter /pleasedonthurtme LOL Naah, that bug was fixed some time ago now and the flawed version wasnt out that long. But it sure was very sad that it made some coumputers out there unstartable. ~SDC~
(gaah hmm perhaps not a good idea quoting posts from the alpha-time when I think about it. will not happen again, Brad) ~SDC~
Lol was indeed a looong time ago, I found it in a post by frogboy from 15th of january 2002: "It would be highly unrealistic. Just because you're good at say research does'nt mean that you can easily take that and put it to say building tanks. Similarly, just because you're good at building star ships doesn't mean youc an just take unused manufacturing capacity and turn it over to building a factory. They are quite seperate things. That's one of the reasons wh
This was possible in the old OS/2-verion..I dont know why they didnt implemented it in the windows-version. Perhaps they didnt like that level of micro-management. I think we discussed it in the alpha/beta/gamma somewhere but I dont remember, sorry. Any stardockers that know why that decision was made? ~SDC~
Hehe. ~SDC~
Just a Q....you havent made the wonder called "Eyes of the universe", have you? That one removes the FoW. ~SDC~
Naah the updates will most likely be linked to from the download page describing what it is. Only needing serial for downloading them. But dont expect those updates to be released that often. Personally Im lucky enough not to have any problems getting the patches through SDC. Is there anything I can do to help you get the SDC working? ~SDC~
Hi! Have you registred a metaverse player? (link on top of the metaverse-page) Also, you might need to submit a score first. Looks like you havent. ~SDC~
It's a software tab in the Stardock Central application (often referred to as SDC) And yes - you need to run that program to get the patch. Stardock has announced that they will make some bigger patches available as ordinary downloads, but no that often - so if you want the latest updates and additions, you need to use the SDC. ~SDC~
Hi and welcome. Ok, you need to go to the download section on this website and install Stardock Central. It's their download manager (and more) and is needed to get and install the patch. ~SDC~
Yeah, but that download was mainly invented when SDC had (have?) problems downloading the game from overloaded servers. It was not in the original plan. ~SDC~
Sigh...sounds more like you want a gameoption to remove the FoW. Boring if you ask me... ~SDC~
Err...this has a lot to do with GalCiv, right? :) Try the wincustomize forum in SDC... ~SDC~
The guard in this game just places the ship to skip all turns until a hostile ship gets near. It doesnt move - so you cant escort. For now anyway. ~SDC~
Yes, or that you have researched so yer max-hitpoints have raised. it indicates that the HP isnt at max. ~SDC~
Have you contacted support or discussed your problems here? There is alot of people around that might be able to help you with SDC. What's the error you get? ~SDC~
If you go to the main menu from inside a game there is a option there to return to the game. ~SDC~
Hi! [email protected] should probably be the ones to contact. ~SDC~
If you have installed the bonus pack there should be an option to load mp3 playlists. And to set playlist directory from the options menu. ~SDC~
Hmm doesnt seem much to go on there, Im afraid. Are you using own playlist or the default music? (possible to set at the game options (ESC) in the game) Hmm guess checking for the latest DirectX at windowsupdate couldnt hurt? Or do you have that already? ~SDC~
Hi! In the galciv-directory there is a file called debug.err That one might contain some info on what's happening. Does it freeze compleately so you need to quit galciv? Or reboot? Or does it gets going again after a little while? ~SDC~
