EvilleJedi has already started with a Star Wars mod, and although you are free to do what you want, surely it would benefit you both if you signed up on his and added your input. Rather than you both carrying the same weight, why don't you share it together.
I agree with this suggestion. It should be noted that the other mod is already seeming to be well under way. You would learn a lot about modding and hopefully be able to contribute to a well polished mod.

Asteroids that have resources (Crystal or Metal) are constructed from the colony. You should have the option that allows you to auto build on them so you don't have to designate which asteroid to build them on. Click the planet, then the civilian structures, left two (Q key for minerals and A for crystals) will allow you to build the structures. You have to establish a colony there first.
not sure about QoS setting
QOS should not come into play unless the machine is generating a lot of traffic all the time. Really QOS is a way to prioritize certain network packets which is real useful for time sensitive data like VOIP. If you run any other background programs like MSN or Yahoo chat, close those. Close down any web pages you have open too just in case they are fetching data repeatedly. Updating the driver is the best thing to do which you say yo
Is there a way to make a system with two suns im try to make a map of the Seefra system from the show Andromeda.
This idea got me thinking. I'm looking into a way that might work. I'll post something if I get it working. No time to put into it today as it's Valentine's Day and I've got plans with my fiancé that I'm not about to break.

You have a lot of references to objects you have removed. Depending on how you did it, I'm sure you didn't remove everything effecting frigates for TEC. Get a good editor that allows for searches within files in a path. I use UltraEdit personally, but there are a lot of options out there so find one that works for you. Open your first frigate file, find all the reference objects (buffs for example) and then find all the files that use those same objects. Also search for the ships wi

The diplomacy system is rather broken. It is very costly to gain an ally and even more costly to maintain them in the end game. There is no ability to negotiate at all. The diplomacy is entirely give in to the demands of the AI or else. That is not diplomacy but racketeering.
Instead of siege shooting missles, change the models and descriptions around and you can have troop transports shooting landing pods
With damage over time bombardment options this seems doable since you would not want to land as many shuttles as you see missiles coming from bombing runs.

It looks as though the download version is currently only available in the Collectors Edition. I am not aware of any added features for the Collectors Edition that are built into the game (ie: you need the boxed set to get the CE added bonuses). So it is cheaper to get the full non-CE version of the game which also allows you to re-download the game and any patches later from Stardock Central. Stardock Central is a nice way to keep a game updated. :)

My two favorite factions from Master of Orion were the Psilons and Silicoids. Spilons could research faster and get all technology quickly overcoming their slow start. Silicoids could colonize any planet and made expansion key to their success as they got planets nobody else wanted or could use. If you really want to see some diversity in races go check out Space Empires.

It could be done without mechanics changes. Eve is one of the games I was thinking about when watching this game come to launch. When you think epic space battles in real time, Eve has to come to mind if you've ever played it. :D
BTW guys, how to you find the URL of a image in order to insert it in a post? (yes, I'm new at this, lol)Thanks
You have to upload the image to a website first. Try looking at a site like photbucket.

Use the pause feature. This request would require a major change to the game engine. GalCiv 2 did enhanced the game engine, make sure you've got the latest patch. :)

I've purchased games from Stardock online multiple times. It's actually an easier way to get a game and expansions that come out for it. The only sites I've ever had credit card issues with are dating sites. Luckily I'm not having to deal with those anymore. :)

That the AI runs without being stopped is a problem but you do have a work around to it. The investment in a colony should weigh in on the decision to stay and fight or running away to save a fleet. It should also opt to "last ditch" when the only colony left is under siege. Hopefully improvements that will come in time. Until then, split up your fleet and wear him down.

Your fleet is too massive and his chance to survive doesn't exist. His only option is to run away. Use two fleets. One to hit him softly and lure him into a fight, and the other to come in and do some damage before he can run away. You can also try to get a fleet ahead of his jump route and catch him running away right into your clutches.

If the AI is running from your main fleet, you are an imposing force. Try splitting that fleet and moving them in stages. Get them to engage fleet 1, then bring fleet 2 in to assist. You want to lock them into combat. Lure them into defensive range while your fleet engages. You can also try to delay your response to their probes to allow a little more time to fire on their ships.
