Mcafee is not any better than Norton. My mother in law had to get a new computer after she got a virus while using Mcafee. AVG has not let me down yet. I have had it for years. I would not steer you wrong.

Does anyone know what can change the shell32.dll? When I ran my virus scan today it said that my shell32.dll was changed. It is not a virus and I do not see any performance difference. I just don;t know what changed it. Thanks in advance for any help.

You should un-install the drive and then reboot. Your computer will re-install the drive. Maybe that will work. I had a simular problem once, and that did the trick for me.
I have SP2, no problems here. Of course I check for updates myself. I will not let MS be in charge. Who know's what else they do with all that permission.
You need to get rid of Norton. AVG7 will prevent you from getting a virus. It will also alert you if you are entering a website with trojans. worms and the like. As alway's Norton will let you get it, and then try and deal with it. AVG7 uses way less resources as well. Even the free version is better than norton. I know that it has been some time since you wrote this, and I hope you will see this. I just had to let you know that I spent 3 years eating, paying bills, land payments and buying groceries without a job or car. God is very powerful. I am not able to explain that to people who do not know him. You know him. He is the only reason I was able to make it. I know how powerful Prayer and Faith are. Without that I would have lost all hope and killed myself.
SD, I have had both those programs for a couple years or more now, and nothing like that has happened to me. Get Rid of your Norton stuff, It will allow you to get a bug, and then try and fix it. The AVG will stop the bug before you can get it. It is especially good at stopping you from visiting web sites with Trojans, worms and the like. I hope you get it fixed. I had a cold, but I took Echinacea and Garlic pills. It never got too bad except for the cough. Thank God that is almost gone now too. And about Defeated. Never! I hope you all feel better soon.
I installed all the updates yesterday too, and now my Skin Studio Pro does not read any programs I try to open in it and won't shut down without doing the Ctrl-Alt-Delete number.

Oh that is so wrong. Having a sense of humor will carry you through these times when you are old enough to suffer them. It makes it alot easier, and so does an excellent husband.
