It's been mentioned already, that only the test versions will show where the enemy is headed. But I gotta agree with that suggestion. Borders seem to be a very good idea. It may be space, but the idea of spheres of influence should be known to each race. Though I don't agree that a declaration of war should be automatic. If the enemy is many times more powerful, you might want to simply accept his rude behaviour.

Oh, one comment to the scroll bar. The window should be reset to top at the beginning of each round. Else you may get messages and not notice, as you scrolled down last turn and forgot to scroll up again. It'd also be nice if the scroll bar disappears when there is nothing to scroll through.

Well, I've seen the naming bug a few times, but it doesn't happen to often, and is easy to miss. The fast switching bug on the other hand happens very often. I also experienced it with three or four different ships at once. And I also had trouble getting my ships to do, what I ordered. The ships suddenly began to freeze up and didn't move for many rounds.
