Why don't you try the guys that published for Firaxis (SMAC)..

I have had some consistent errors as to finding Music/*.mp3 files. Thought it was me putting the mp3's that was posted a couple of weeks ago in the wrong directory, but now I've tried moving them around - and even to make a directory called "Music". Where are those critters supposed to go?
I've been hunting this critter for the last couple of days. Fast check: Nothing wrong with the screen :) Checked it on another PC. Anyway, I believe it to be a problem with the drivers for my Riva TNT 2 64MB graphics card - despite the fact that I've tried to update the drivers several times. I'll debug on. Will eventually post a solution.. In good spirit. Send more builds :)
Hmm..I've had a game running on my machine for the last 5 days. Since this morning at roughly 2 AM (approx 24 h ago) and 18 AM (approx 6 hours ago) my screen has aquired a very undesirable trait: It has started painting ghost images of windows on the desktop. I've tried rebooting the system several times, updating drivers, changing display settings (screen size, refresh rate etc.) and turning off every piece of eletronic equipment within range. Nothing helps. Any suggestions?
Cari: About investing resources: You're absolutely right. Don't worry about it now - just add it to the (evergrowing) list of features to add..
The Auto-Move (I think) actually makes some of your ships absolutely unselectable - at least until they reach their destination. Also I have the green frame disappear from ships, both when I cycle through them (TAB and Find) and when I click on them. Furthermore I have ships that become immobile and inert. Can't get to them or move them in any way.. Unfortunately there's no indications in the debug.err.
Gee, I take up 75% :)
On the Planet Screen, in the list of Military and Social Projects. Once the list grows beyond the box's size, there is no indicator of where on the list you are..
When can we get to see all this cool stuff? I'm drooling already - and my girlfriend is asking why I have that silly smile on my face..
That's wonderful news. I have tried to look at the .mdl files and I didn't feel very smart doing so :) Now I just wish somebody would comment on the tech tree issue. :( Perhaps the discussion is irrelevant - or it may be premature..
Perhaps a stupid question, but.. Will Governors be implemented on planet, system or empire level? My reasoning is this: To have one Governor running the entire empire on your behalf would seem odd to me. However, to have one for each system or planet would seem to more within the job-title. If it is so, then you might consider letting each Governor have slightly different skills (basically a modifier on Military, Social and Research) and let them gain experience just
Alex: Thanks! The reason for having current Military and Social Projects visible on the right (vertical) list of planets in a system - is for quick comparison of production in that system. Today it's a lot of clicking to match production in a 5 planet system, when you want one to build a Defender, another to build a Battleship, no. 3 to build a Transport and make sure the last two doesn't build anything. Furthermore it would make it easier for you to check that all planets are building some
I had problems installing as well, Jack. However mine was a "Memory Could Not Be Read"-fault reported by Windows2K, which crashed the DGM. Fortunately I was able to download the game in several bits - each time getting a little bit further. And once I had it on my machine, it acted like an angle installing. However playing is another matter ;)
I'm playing on 1600x1200 ;)
+ Foreign Policy Screen Is this supposed to work, or is it simply there for our comments? I'm default in war with 5 civilizations I can't see, but assume to be the other races in the game :p Like the layout, though..
Perhaps we should make a thread of issues to be fixed for each week? It wouldn't be for discussion of potential bugs, but rather the bugs there is concensus about. Then Brad could close the thread for each week with an update of bugs that has been addressed in that weeks patch..
Nice! Perhaps you could give us a brief on which keyboard keys are meaningfull in the game?
I've experienced that the green frame around ships disappear when I use "Find" on them - and the Game tries to cycle between ships with move left.
No, it doesn't. You can easily go back to the ship manually and spend the rest of its move.
Come to think of it, this brings up another nasty issue - scenario building and how to let users add new graphics to the game. Not that I expect that to be the main focus right now - but ceratinly an issue that needs to be adressed in the future.
+ The Military and Social Projects lists doesn't reset from visit to visit. Furthermore there isn't an indicator of where on the list you are - and the arrows doesn't work.
+ Another thing is actually also a list of improvements build on each planet and which modifiers they give. Perhaps they will be visible of the Details Screen?
I've been thinking about this tech tree thingie. Perhaps I'm the only one wishing to discuss what it should be possible to do with it. IMO the reason for the tech tree is to let the players and AI's improve on their race, society, military and inter-species interaction. What I miss is a discussion on what kind of improvements will be implemented in the game, how many new ships and how drastically should the "standard" tech tree let players alter their race & empire. Co
Btw.: Brad, can you either place the tech tree in a location where we may retrieve it as a text-file - or post it as such? See, I don't have PDQLite :)
I miss a couple of things on the Planet Screen: + The possibility to see the solar systems location on the Galatic Mini-map. + The current Military and Social Projects build by planets displayed in the list of planets on the right side of the screen. What do you guys think? :)
