ADDITION + On the Planet Screen you can only purchase the currently displayed Project. Add to List for build next Friday:Fix it so you get to buy the project you pressed the "Purchase" button for?

Just dl'd it. Nice! The game-play is improved with the lower prices on Colony Ships and Scouts. Am really looking forward to get in depth with this build. I can't wait to get started on the Diplomacy Screen :-) NOTE + Currently the cyckling on the Planet Screen is from system to system. It seems more logical to me that it was from planet to planet, but that might just be because of the planet list hasn't been added yet.

OK :-) Are you reading this guys? We get to work on this for the next (almost) 4 months. Man, this feels so nice! And to you, Brad, Cari and the rest of Stardocks: Just keeps us at it! Tell us, when we're pushing too much. We'll back down. After all we're here to help you - not to have you people do our every whim. I must admit that I enjoy this immensely..

You mean, you have the version where it's possible to purchase ships and advancements? Got me wondering. Why are such things as Planet Defense and System Defense listed under Social Projects? IMHO they should be Military..

Just a couple of notes: 1) Disregard the last post above. 2) The flickering stuff takes focus from the Tech advance screen. I've experienced several times that a Science Project runs to completion without getting the Research Complete Screen. 3) The management of Colony Ships needs to be imrpoved. It's too easy to accidentially colonize a new planet in the system where you build a Colony Ship. Also, when you colonize several planets in one turn, the Engine tends to "skip" al

I've tried to go on through DGM a couple of times and check on GalCiv. It does say "update", but when I click on install, I'm told that the game is already installed. Will I have to uninstall it to get the new patch with "Purchases" enabled and all that? Or hasn't there been a new patch since Wedensday? Perhaps you could make a thread called "Patches" and post when you have compiled a new one for us to get?

Actually I found a neat way to test those - and to speed the game up. If you remember Brads post on Game Editing, then he explained that the Tech and Ship descriptions would be accessible as text files. Well, I went there and set the move for Colony Ships and Scouts to 10. Makes for an entirely different game (good for very expansionistic or very fast games), but a bit too fast for my liking - anyway now you can test those algorithms..

Tech: Generous After the conclusion of the session of the Sentient Races Commitee this afternoon, the spokesperson from the Department of Trade has this comment: "We have concluded the session with very good results. Re: Nice, Mean, Organic Piecing --- Nice: Leads to nothing. I like your suggestion. Generous is a good lable for that. If you are Generous, the concequences for breaking a deal are more severe for the one that breaks it. Mean: Leads to nothing. How about calling it Strict? Organic Piecing: Leads to Genetic Mapping. I have no clue to what it's supposed to mean - but since it has to do with medical science, we could call it "Viral Vaccines". I'll be

Tech: Diplomacy The cultural and physological differences between Humans and the Alien Races requires a complex set of rules for conducting diplomatic negotiations. The necessity of this was stressed during the Schmidt-Talks, where the human envoy gravely insulted all members of the Arceanian mission by brushing dust of his jacket. Only by a great show of humility and the most serious apologies was a major diplomatic incident avoided. The Veronica Protecol stipulates w

Tech: Cold Fusion While Fission was realized during the Second World War and Fusion gained a commercial breakthrough in 2031, Cold Fusion wasn't shown to be a reality before the Star Gate was finally made operational and scientific studies was exchanged with the Alien Races. Where "Hot" Fusion requires very high pressure and an equally large amount of energy to start, Cold Fusion makes it possible to create immense amounts of energy "in a cup of water at room temperature", so t

You may well be correct. I've never understood that part :-) Perhaps I should elaborate a bit: I've tried clicking on every ship, switching between planet view, economic view, research view and galactic view. Game kept being frozen. Shut down and got this in the debug.err: Debug Message: Posting WM_CLOSE message. Debug Message: GameUninitialize start Debug Message: GameUninitialize end Debug Message: Main Shell terminating normally Debug Message: Un

The game froze on me. Basically the "Turn" button is stuck in the "inactive" mode - apparently as if the game is between turns. Another thing: Have any of you guys noticed that the game generates an average 6 page faults per second - or is that only me? When I ALT-Tab out of the game it generates them as steady as it goes..

That's a really good one. When I saw Trade, Diplomacy, Nice, Mean and Alliances in the Tech-tree, my first thought was "Are we starting from Adam and Eve?" On second thoughts, I realized that Trade could be explained as a process for getting inter-planetary and inter-stellar trade organized. So the entry would be something like: The Senate passed the Hansen Bill in its session today. Having been under way for [months spend in reaserch], the Bill formalizes the issues o

I _have_ to work on really reading your posts. Well, I read them, but the content gets flushed from day to day. Just saw my suggestion was basically mirrored in the second post by gherardo.
