Are you two forgetting that ships in GC2 did repair themselves -- slowly if in space and not so slow when in orbit of a planet. Also there was a module that could be added to a starbase that increased the repair rate for ships. But, what was that repair rate based on? I don't have the answer to that question, but I suspect that the experience level of the ship's crew (which is what the experience level must really represent) is a factor -- maybe the only factor.

I just did a search and found what looks like an announcement of the Alpha of Political Machine for April 1, 2008. There is some confusion here, because I had to extrapolate a bit from what I was able to read. https://forums.galciv2.com/305676/get;1666536

The last I heard was from FrogBoy, where he said early March. I never heard the December or February statements except as guesses by the Fans. Before Brad said March, the official date was always sometime this winter. Sorry, I have lost track of all of the links for this, but maybe someone else has them handy.
Yeah I'd have to agree with this - sequels rarely see ground up innovation, mostly incremental. The ones that try to re-invent themselves from ground-up invariably mess up. See SOTS2 and MOO3 for examples.
Actually, I think MOO3 belongs in another category. Someone bought the rights to the MOO series and re-built it, hence it didn't have the guidance of the original creator.

And here is a need that may make TweetyLeaf's request easier. I prefer playing games in windowed mode, leaving room to view my sidebar and task bar, and sometimes, some of the icons on an edge of my desktop. Having fixed resolution sizes to choose from tends to be clumsy and unsatisfactory in attempting these desires. Instead, for windowed mode, can we just move the window edges without changing the apparent zoom distance? No need to zoom in or out as a compensation for a change i

I have an idea that I think belongs in another thread, but I wanted to give credit to dlapine1 for causing me to think of it. ------- How about passenger liners? Ships with passenger modules instead of trade modules that would each first establish a flight route between two planets then carry passengers between those planets, either within the empire, or between empires. Since passenger liner routes would be patronized by business people and tourists, it would be a cash

I am beginning to hope that this is all a misunderstanding somewhere, somehow, that when we finally see the first alpha build, the sectors will be there and will be displayed in some manner, maybe in a new way that we will all have to get
