the GoG guys seem ok though.
From a user's perspective they may seem ok, but Brad has to look at their track record of how accountable they have been to the software development companies. How often the reports are is beside the point if the reports are not accurate. As he said: "GOG has a number of issues for developers. It doesn't provide retail-time reports. Instead, every quarter we get a report on how many units

And don't forget, Frogboy said that GOG does not provide the sales accountability developers need. That was in reply # 176 of thread https://forums.galciv3.com/449009. After seeing that reply again I am definitely voting NO on GOG.

WOW. I completely forgot about the trailer for GC1. Now I remember seeing it, first in pieces, then in one piece. The little girl with the teddy bear really impressed me, and is what makes me think the GC1 trailer was the best of the three. I also remember that the first trailer initially challenged low end GPUs pretty heavily and they had to tweak it to make it better. One thing worries me, though. The trailer for GC3 leaves me wondering if GC3 will be the last of the series.

Is enslavement (and the resulting continued existence) still evil?
I also think this is a point of view. If the enslavers really believe that the enslaved will become extinct if not enslaved and the enslaved believe that they would prosper if not enslaved, how to you judge which is true? It is better

If it has none, then Gal Civ 3 will be hard to play as DW has spoiled me. BTW DW is almost always on sale during xmas. Heh, that's more or less my feelings as well. Distant Worlds spoiled me, but I'll still be happy if GC3 has even a fraction of the atmosphere DW does. <br

Not that the web site was gone, but that the company that bought Impulse simply caved in and died. Now I can't find it. A search on "gamestop" gives 3 pages of hits, but none of them are recognizable as what I thought I had read. My apologies to everyone.
) For some unknown reason, neither EA/Gamestop/Activision/etcc decide to swoop in and buy Steam even if its JUST to get a 60 million account user base. Note THIS assumption is really really unlikely. Companies buy other companies to buy 'customers' all the time. If someone could buy up the #1 PC user base for a fire sale, they'd be stupid not to.
I think Brad said GameStop is already gone.

Joeball123, I agree with you about the tactical combat. It won't affect whether I by the game (I already have) or whether I enjoy the game, but it would certainly add to my enjoyment. Part of this is that I like to play long games, the maximum sized galaxy with lots of habitable planets, etc., and I like to set the victory conditions for conquest only. Having tactical combat would add intermittent changes in play, making the game more fun.

The Influence boarders are part of what goes into influence victories. If you build up a high amount of influence over much of the galaxy, you can win an influence victory. I don't remember what percentage of the galaxy it takes, but I think it is up in the 80s or 90s. I hope someone can find where the different types of victories are explained. It should be in one of the databanks. The hows and whys of each should be illuminating reading.
