Docster, sorry if you took offense to that comment. I really had specific posters in mind when I wrote that and you were not one of them. I actually read this thread last night and decided to sleep on it before I posted anything. So, trust me, that was a toned down version of what I was thinking originally. I just can't sit by and listen to people call Stardock a bunch of scammers and tell me that, as a skinner, I should be pissed off. Well, I guess I am, but not at Stardock or WC'

Man, some people just want everything for free. This is not a matter of charging for skins, it is a matter of subscribing to avoid advertisments. Every skin site does it, and it is completely optional. Futhermore, WinCustomize doesn't plan to have pop-up ads at all. They are hoping enough people will subscribe that non-subscribers won't need to have pop-up ads thrown at them. DeviantArt, for example, is $30 per year. Maybe you guys (last 4 posters) haven't noticed the checkboxes at the top of the WindowBlinds library. They let you filter only the types of skins you want to see. Once an XP filter is added, you will easily be able to see just the XP skins without wading through them all or having a separate XP only library. As a skinner, multiple libraries doesn't make sense and it makes keeping up with comments and keeping my skins up to date more difficult.

Oops, I missed the "i have the money now" part. If you're willing to part with that kind of cash, go for PS. But you can get a lot of other stuff with the $500+ you would save by getting PSP.

Well, here's another opinion It depends on what you are going to do with it. Photoshop is obviously the best of the best, but many skinners are quite happy with Paintshop Pro. As a Web deveolper, my company has purchased PS for me, so I didn't have to save up $650. But if I did, I would probably settle for PSP, at least for a while. I'm glad they have been merged. Since XP skins can also be used on older versions of Windows, it didn't make sense to keep track of my skins in 2 libraries (3 including GUI Olympics) when they are the same exact skin. I do agree that they should be marked as XP skins. When we upload skins, we check off a box indicating that it has XP support, so I imagine that skins could easily be flagged as XP skins in the WindowBlinds library. I second EzPop. I don't really know how popular it is, but I use it every day. There are certainly a lot of skins for it, and they are quite small. As Hippy said, it is the only skinnable email checker as far as I know.

Good point, Craeonics. Now that you mention it, the skins I tend to use most are the ones that are part of a suite. There are quite a few nice WB skins out there for XP, but if they are accompanied by skins for my other apps, I am much more likely to use them long term. Case in point: Logika. You can't change it exactly, but in WindowBlinds, you can turn it off. This will allow the menus on the left to have the same color scheme as your current skin, but without the nice colored background. This is not something a skinner can control though, it is up to the user to set this in thier WindowBlinds options. The option is labeled 'Use WIndows XP style explorer bars'.

Ok, I forgot to ask, did you install Windowblinds? You can't use Windowblinds skins without it. Once it's installed you'll have an Add button. You can get it here http://www.windowblinds.net . For the record, there is no difference between XP Home and Pro as far as Windowblinds is concerned.

Next, right-click on the skin you want to download and choose 'Save as ...' (don't forget where you saved it).Then, go to your Control Panel and open Disaply Properties. On the Appearance tab in Display Properties, click on the Add button and browse for the .wba you saved. That will add the skin. Now you can select it from the list and apply it.
