Actually, eXeon, this works a little differently on XP than in 2000. For one thing, XP doesn't get a Skins tab in Display Properties. Instead, WindowBlinds adds options to the Appearance tab. Also, right-clicking and choosing "Save as .." is currently the easiest way to do it with XP. When you just click the link, the skin is downloaded into your temp folder, but it is not added to WB.

Splash, Just to point out what you probably already know: You can use the XP upgrade CD to do a full clean install. Just boot with the upgrade CD and during the setup process it will ask you to insert your Win2K CD (or other qualifying version) to verfiy you are authorized to use the upgrade CD.

Many ad blocking products block all onload and onclose javascript events. The problem with that is legitimate events will be blocked as well as pop-up ads. Windows Update, for example, uses pop-up windows when it generates your list of updates. These are blocked by some 'pop-up killer' programs, rendering it useless. I do find pop-up ads terribly annoying, but I have yet to see a product that is smart enough to kill ads and still allow pop-ups when they are useful or necessary. If you're regular

You know, at first I thought Winamp 3 was too obscure, but, the final relase will probably be out by summer and, more importantly, this could generate some great Winamp 3 skins. Just look at how many great XP skins were created for these Olympics. It looks to me like the number of XP skins has just about doubled since the GUIO started. I also have a soft spot for ICQ Plus skins (I know, I know, everybody's using Trillian ;))

I agree with that DavidK. My wish list also includes the following user related feature: On the My Skins section, I would like to know if I have any new comments. Ideally, the site would know if I've read the comments already and tell me if there are new ones, but even something as simple as showing the last comment date would help a lot. /me realizes this thread was about appearance and not features, but he just couldn't resist <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smile
Take a look at your WindowBlinds settings. Go to your Display Properties, then: On XP: go to the Appearance tab, click the WindowBlinds button, then look at the Settings section. On 98/Me/2K: go to the Skins tab, click the WindowBlinds button, then look at the Settings section. There are options to enable/disable backgrounds, wallpaper, etc. Also, keep in mind that wallpaper is not always included in the skin. In some cases you may have to download it separatley.
I like having 3 columns, but it seems like the page is forced wider than it needs to be. It looks like all the content would fit at 800x600 if the logo and search bar didn't force a horizontal scrollbar. I run this PC at 1024x768, but I don't like to maximize my browser all the time. For the most part, I like the basic layout. I find this site easier to navigate than other skin sites.

Logon Studio makes logons for use with Logon Studio. You friends just need to install that to use your logon files.
I'll second that. 98 is far more reliable than Me. If you can't use 2000 or XP, I'd go with 98.
Under Windows XP, the task bar and start menu are skinned by WindowBlinds. On 98/2000 (which don't have the XP style task bar and start menu) you can use ObjectBar. ObjectBar is capable of importing those parts from the WindowBlinds skin and creating an ObjectBar skin from them automatically. This, in most cases, elminiates the need to create a matching ObjectBar. Hopefully that clarifies things.
