I usually expand at first and build up my infrastructure. Then I focus on military technology (wish you could get armor sooner, tbh). During all this I'm forming alliances with friends and fortifying against foes. I'm not quite finished with my first game yet.

Hmmm, I have to certainly agree with all your points but I'm enjoying the game myself. I'm planning on modding the game to improve upon many things.

I don't think it is working as intended... grouped units appear to be getting unique individual person names . Instead of a "Company of Peons" we're getting Bob. It's slightly confusing and need a quickfix. It wasn't this way in beta... what happened? Stardock, you guys changed something in between launch and beta... or even after Brad's video.

UPDATE : Just released the updated copy of this mod for gold retail release. Enjoy! UPDATE : I'm currently in progress of updating this mod for release. Everything is running but I still need to debug the Sovereign Abilities file for an error... unfortunately, that's also the largest file. Hopefully have it fixed by tonight. I've also started adding icons to the new histories, tr

UPDATE: This mod should still work with the release version of the game. I'm running it on my game. Considering that Stardock still hasn't fixed the Amerian female eye situation , it's nice to have this around. I mean, do the Amerian females only have ONE eye color (when the males have many)? It's a simple oversight and not too difficult to fix. If anyone would like to add any skins, eyes, hairs, or heroes. Let me know! I'm going to make a post

I agree that champions need a little more buffing to make them more important. I've got my Abilities Mod (in the mod section) to do just that by improving their traits and such. To me champions are just one person. They shouldn't really be able to defeat an entire army by themselves. They should, however, be able to at least stand up to them. I think of all the action-adventure movies where you have Jack Sparrow or someone fighting an entire base of enemy soldiers. He's not taking the

Yeah, even Brad made the mistake of stating that Wisdom improves Mana regen in his first video tutorial. It probably should function a little more. Then again, they should probably add more function to Charisma too. Essence can be increased at level up and is the same as Wisdom. You can restore mana with those potions from quests. I've seen the NPCs have them, apparently they have been questing too! I don't know what you mean about Squad and Elites. I was under the impression

Here is my normal sovereign: And my older sovereign: NOTE : I suggest posting the created portrait located under "My Docs/My Games/Elemental/Units/Icons".

So... you don't like it because of the graphics, GUI, manual, tutorial, and sound? They should scrap it? I agree that all of these elements have faults: The GUI is a little clunky and hard to find things. There is no tutorial. Although Stardock employees have repeatedly stated that the Campaign can be used as a tutorial. The sound needs a little more inspiration, better sound effects, more music, and much better unit acknowledgments.

I'll give it a shot. The Warg resource is under CoreWorldResources.XML but this doesn't seem to be it. Mentions "Kennel". We need to find the building. Find the EmpireUnlimitedImprovements.xml and look for Kennel. Sure enough, it's there! Try deleting the code in here:
Allegiance <br /

Modding in a Faction Generator is going to be WAY more work then you'd expect. Just properly doing the UI would take an expert modder. Just wait for Stardock to do it. Try coming up with a list of smaller fixes the community can plug before jumping at the two largest and most difficult issues. P.S. I do believe that modding a larger map is possible and Brad even explained how to do it somewhere. &

I know there is quite a few beta videos you can look at. However, they are somewhat dated by now. Frogboy and friends are currently making their own "video tutorials", however, to be quite honest, they are kind of lacking in the whole "tutorial" sense. They need more explanations. I'll tell you what, if you can make my game finish downloading RIGHT NOW (currently at 93.4%) I'll do a tutorial, LOL. However, if I do a tutorial it's gonna have my mods, thus, modifying what is normal game

Screenshots should be under " My Documents/My Games/Elemental/Screenshots ". That's where a lot of important data is kept and also integral to modding. Summoning - Also note that you must click the same tile as the caster to actually summon a creature. You do not summon them in tiles next to your characters. I don't think you can cast any spells while garrisoned within the city (couldn't in beta).

Agreed with OP. A couple months ago when I came here it was unlike any other forum. People were (about 90%) nice, kind, and helpful. However, as we got closer to launch... its disappeared. All the people from back then are still here but for every one of them three to five "annoying" people have arrived. I guess as you get closer to release people come out of the woodworks! Also, I just hate all the major complaints about seemingly minor issues. For example the random map generates. B
Quoting _PawelS_, reply 6I think (constructive) criticism is more useful for the devs than praises. i agree, as long as it is constructive. There are a few people who just want to vent at the devs. Thats not useful.
Agreed . It's easy to be demanding and complain about something. It's much more useful to provide quality feedback in a diplomatic way. However, most people online these days h

Good stuff, waiting for the YouTube rendition ;P Also, I like the message in it. I'm at 89.9%, almost done. Can't wait. Just gonna have some fun!

I liked your old beta thread about this stuff, I think it really gave some good insight into the problems. Hopefully you can do the same here and Stardock can use them to really improve the interface. Your suggestions are pretty helpful and constructive. Kinda sucks about the building construction, I liked seeing the beta queue. It kinda is TBS 101 to display what your doing with little or no effort. Lastly, Stardock really NEEDS to implement a "Skip to next free unit" button.

I believe you can also increase unit veterency levels, thus, adding more hitpoints. Actually, Asharak explained it quite well.
What hermes said but, to get slightly more specific, it'll be a tech in the Warfare tree. You can achieve this in two ways: the tech that unlocks larger parties (i.e., a troop of four peasants have four times the HP of a troop of one) or the tech that allows better training of your soldiers (this does, direct
