Goo, Vista can't span. For exampe, on my home office machine, running non-SLI with two cards, my primary card drives two monitors, so the Dream plays on monitor 1 and then appears to be quick-scaled (jaggies are visible) to play as a clone on monitor 2. Monitor 3 is on a second display adapter and never ever shows dreams. The Matrox products you mention would give you a spanning capability but they are such abysmally low resolution (1280x1024 per monitor) that

All the browsers are getting new javascript engines in their newest releases, so they're all getting faster--which is great for all of us. However, tt doesn't really matter on 99% of websites which of them is going to be fractionally faster than any other. Features, security, and compatibility with existing page rendering is what end users actually notice and care about, imho.

You rule! That gave me the info I needed to find the artist's name etc. :) In form of thank you, here's the artist's deviantart page via this link to a colored in version of the same sketch, hehe. http://inkblotzart.deviantart.com/art/Jim-Lee-Batman-in-the-Rain-39189042

In clarification of my notes above, I just did some more tests with Vista 64 and it appears as though the problem starts right upon Apply Changes with Live Folders that contain nothing but other folders. In other words, if there are only folders with subfolders (and not files and/or files and folders) the Live Folder icon doesn't update to the new change. Other folders change to the new icon, but this one does not. And it seems to creep over time. And this error does

I run into a different problem in that I am using the Photo Dream deskscape and while it starts back up again after quitting a game (Aero disables when the OpenGL game runs, then re-enables when it quits), the image in the Photo Dream never changes after that. So either it doesn't keep checking its list of shuffled images, or doesn't reinitialized correctly, etc.

@jpmurph1, how did you speedtest Impulse? @wizard1956, that widget only tests the speed of your local ISP under ideal conditions. It doesn't test the Impulse/Stardock servers or have anything to do with the original poster's question. Thanks for the link though!

One interesting thing I've seen with IP on Vista 64 SP1 is that shortly after I apply the new icons, the Live Folders begin to revert to the defaults, one by one. It's as if the new Live Folders aren't "sticking". I can manually re-apply the iconpackage by running IP and the Live Folders change from the defaults to the new ones. And then over the next day or two...some start popping back to default. It happens on Vista 64 no matter which icon package I use and does N

I have an uber connection and I am sure that Impulse's download speed is capped, either by their ISP upload bandwidth, or more likely on a per download basis. I've never gotten a maxxed download speed via Impulse. In fact, I'm not sure I have ever seen anything higher that 200 kilobytes per second.

Exactly, it just means MS tweaked Superfetch a bit. The purpose of which is to use as much memory as possible to speed up the things you are using often. After all, RAM unused is RAM wasted, since you're paying the power to keep it alive whether it's being used or not... Use all my RAM, please! PS and for the record, I just installed the W7 beta (32 bit version) on some 3 ghz P4 machines with 1 gig of RAM and I gotta tell ya, it's way faster on that configuration t
