Hey, just tried the latest beta and Fences is BACK on my machine. Most interestingly, the debug feature works. Before, when I tried to Edit Settings, the window would appear, then crash and go away. Now, the window appears, a crash/debug window arrives, and as long as I don't hit OK in the debug window, I can finally edit/change my Fences settings. So, that helps me workaround the fact that couldn't edit settings before. :) Here's the

Latest update of Fences (b16?) caused Fences to disappear all icons etc. completely. The crashing of the settings program continues as before for me (V64U, 8gb ram, quad intel cpu, dual nvidia 8 series GPUs), so I had to uninstall Fences entirely (as I can't seem to find the "revert" option in Impulse that I had with SDC. Once it came back up, I was able to get the icons back by selecting RMB/View/Show Desktop Icons. Interestingly, it was Checked when I went to it.&n

Mirsguy +1 I have another zoomer with "infrequent apps" autohiding on the bottom of monitor 3. No screen real estate wasted. There in a flash if I do. 5 docks on three monitors...and yet...oh so clean and pretty! :) OD+ FTW! [e digicons][/e]

I just tested Deskspace on a worst case scenario (Vista 64 bit, Quad Core CPU w/8 gb ram, 2 display adapters, three monitors, every custom tweak imaginable from Fences to Windowblinds) and despite some iteresting behavoirs, it does appear to work without any noticeable slowdowns relating to my Wraith-skinned windows. I can drag them to the screen edges and watch the desktops roll around as expected. Quite a trip on this setup, I must say, but no slowdown seen here. M

I subscribed to WC last year (in addition to my ObjectDesktop annual subscription fee) and honestly saw no tangible return on that investment over the years when I have not. I've treated this as I paid a one time fee to support the site, but I really don't see it making sense as an annual fee. I guess that's because I've always seen it as just a marketing arm of Stardock's, and I've argued as much in previous posts/threads over the years. I think it should be funded

Why is this titled "A friend of mine died" when it's just an excuse to post an image? It's also a word for word reposting of this link http://chipschurchchat.blogspot.com/2007/10/not-for-faint-of-heart.html from 2007...ahem.

I worked on DS9 and they are VERY happy with how the show's story wrapped. And with all the previous Trek creators (Berman, etc.) now out of the loop (thank god!), there will never be any interest by Paramount (which HATES sci-fi and never understood Trek) in doing a DS9 movie. Just be happy that DS9 eventually turned into a good show at all. Originally, the entire show's concept, storyline, etc. was stolen from J. Michael Straczynski after he pitched what woul
Skins stopped working in iTunes at version 7.3, I think,
Yes, true. I should have mentioned no one has skinned the newest v8...yet. ;)

In the meantime, it IS possible to skin iTunes (essentially by reshacking the binary I suppose). You can google "itunes skins" etc. Here is one link I found with some examples. http://www.guistyles.com/category/itunes-skins/
