It does beg the question: why not treat "file without version number" as "version 0", and handle it like you will other versioned changes? I'll be the first to admit that backwards compatibility code isn't always worth writing, but if a patch that makes previous saved games unplayable doesn't qualify, I don't know what does. Which isn't to say that I'm ungrateful; more curious.
Thanks, Mascrinthus. What is the "Starbase Bonuses" box for, then, in the planet Details screen? Doesn't that seem misleading to anyone else?
I'm not sure if this is a bug or if I've just misunderstood completely. I have a planet, and two parsecs away is a Morale resource. I sent a Constructor there, and there has been a mining starbase there for many many turns. On the planet Details screen, in the upper right box ("Starbase Bonuses") it says "No Starbase Bonuses"; nor is it listed in the Approval breakdown in the tooltip. Is this a bug, or have I misunders
