Okay, no rush. I'll give it a try when you figure it out. Let me know if there's anything I can do to help.

The screen goes blank for a few minutes after Brad's new splash screen comes up & then I get the "EWOM has stopped working message".
Re Derek and such, the #1 lesson is not to treat project management as a side thing. Derek has brought that onto FE. He is able to dedicate himself to the project and Myself and Jon Shafer can contribute our ideas and suggestions and feedback to Derek but ultimately it's Derek's call and he can enforce it because he's watching the daily check-ins.
I think that's the #1 problem in America today.
Played 1.4 for about an hour last night with no issues (quad core). Met 1 Sov who declared war when I wouldn't pay him his Danegelt. So far I'm steamrolling thru his towns using magic, but each one has better soldiers, so at some point I'll probably get my head handed to me.
When it's not off? Seriously, if you're asking about the 2nd game, it's going to be a new game, not an addon, Elemental: Fallen Enchantress. It has been redone almost from the ground up. Beta out this fall. We're all hoping to be blown away, but Frogboy says it'll cause cancer. [e digicons];)[/e]
I know everyone's getting hyped about FE, but I always thought there was a fun game buried in WOM. Thanks for all your hard work bringing it out.
Well, one thing you guys aren't going to see is much marketing until the beta is in your hands. The reason is that we need people who have the game on hand able to say "Yea, they're delivering the goods." Make Stardock prove it'll be awesome.[/quote Well, you won't have to worry about anyone on this forum not being brutally honest! Hopefully we'll only have nits to pick this time!
Frogboy has a new post on 1.4 in which he says that he iinadvertently introduced crashes in 1.3 trying to upgrade the multithreading for players with multi-core machines. https://forums.elementalgame.com/411513/get;2988801 He says he's found & fixed some of them, but if you've found a problem that can be reproduced you should let him know. Since this is his personnal 1.4 thread, I'd post

Thanks for the update. Any idea when you'll release a 1.4 beta? As you can see by the response to your post there are still quite a few of us more than willing to take it for a spin.
Adding so many new magic spells that even Edwin99 can't think of anything to add!
Labor is only about half of the cost of running a studio. On top of that, please send me the resumes of good developers who will work for $45k a year. Maybe you only amortize all that fancy gear over 1 year because once 1 programmer gets a new rig everyone has to 1 up them. (Real Nerd rage) (and ye
v1.4 will have significant AI updates (otherwise it will have to go into another update). It is irrelevant to us whether everyone moves to Fallen Enchantress or not. There is a principle here and that is WOM is still not at a place where we feel ready to just let it go into "maint." mode.
AI and more Magic spells would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for caring!
Here is a good explaination by Frogboy of why they're having such a difficult time getting EWOM to run smoothly & why FE will hopefully not have this issue. https://forums.elementalgame.com/410807/get;2976682 He has also said that he intends to issue a version 1.4 which hopefully will address this and other issues. https://forums.elementalgame.com
One of the three focuses for Fallen Enchantress is Magic. We want the spells to be unique, to feel like casters with enough mana can change the world. We want magic to fill the game, all the sovereigns start with spells though some like Procipinee are better spell casters than Verga. As in Master of Magic you can choose your sovereigns proficienc
Quoting Lord Xia, reply 16 But, also, you really can't work on teh AI until you have most of the game finished, so Brad working on WoM now really doesn't take any resources away from FE. I'm sure that Brad has everyone working on FE that needs to be right now. To be compared with: Quoting Derek Paxton, reply 47 There won't be siege battles (...) in Fallen Enc
Frogboy, are you going to have a poll of some sort regarding 1.4? I remember you saying that there would only be a 1.4 if people specifically asked for it.
I vote yes for 1.4. Please put the "Magic" back in Elemental:War of Magic with v1.4. Of course, don't let that stop you from pre-tweaking the spells in 1.3.
I totally agree with both Lord Xia and Thormodr, but I think it really is a moot point. Brad is going to keep working on EWOM until he's happy with it. Anyone who thinks the game is a waste of time should just pretend it doen't exist & move on. Those of us still interested in seeing it evolve will do what we can to help that process along.
Posted this in the changelog thread, but I'll re-post here. - Where, where, where is the magic? Gone completely! I used inspiration for prestige, and nature's bounty for food. That must surely be the most boring use of magic ever in any game of all time period. More summon spells, more combat spells! BUT I like the new longer research times for high level spells. It's much more even compared to your technology advance
