But to each his or her own, eh
Yes, I agree, but my wife only alots me couple of hours of free "fun" per week, so there's a lot of hours to fill. While something short can be extremely entertaining, I generall

That's like saying a fine glass of scotch is less worth than a big beer because there's less to drink. Not to mention that any adventure game will be of shorter length than a strategy game for obvious reasons. I enjoy and value games on an individual basis. It's not a "st

Unless it is of extreme quality, like bastion (10 bucks, 5 hours, worth it).
I'd say the 1:1 ratio is a pretty fair standard. Of course since I usuallly buy games either on sale of after they've gone to deep discount it's rare I don't get my monies worth. I even think I've met that with E:WOM (thanks to your MOD's) an

Brad - OMG, first you want Thanksgiving weekend off and now you're going to make some of us wait for our doses of Beta pain! I guess you really are the evil gaming mastermind I keep reading about in these forums! Oh, buy the way, I joined at Beta 1Z1 (April 2010), could you please email me with the start date for my group so I can rearrange my schedule as needed. [e digicons]}:)[/e]

I don't want to be the one to tell Lord Xia!

That was always one of the cool parts of MOO. There was this wonderful planet sitting out there that would give you a decided edge in the game. The only problem was, once you found it you had to make sure you could handle the Guardian or you lost a lot of valuable resources, but if you waited too long the AI would eventually get it. I always had the suspicion that the AI got a cheat here, so I'm glad to see you're struggling with keeping it hard for everyone.

Hey Frogboy, if you're looking for sympathy you won't find it on this forum. We want our Beta with AAA+ AI and we want it now! And why aren't the Ponies Pink? (Got your back Lord Xia!)

Frogboy - I really think you just need to bite the bullet and convoy your AI settlers. My preferred strategy is to always send a settler out with at least 1 guard unit. If it's a primo site I might even send 2 guards. Nothing worse than losing a settler & then seeing your opponent build a city right where you wanted to. And unless you're giving the AI an unfair advantage on new city 1st unit build times, that guard unit really comes in handy after the

We humans have advantages that you can't easily program into the AI. As you said -
The hardest part of writing AI isn’t coming up with *A* away to solve a problem.
