As far as I know, the widget preferences are for an object running as a widget, and show up on the properties dialog. Other Widget methods have the same limitation (like Widget.close, which will do nothing if running as an object with the DesktopX runtime. And for another little gotcha, the DesktopX.HostType property doesn't seem to really work as a way to tell which mode is the environment at the moment - not sure why.) I have not used them much, a
This is an online version of the docs, which a little more recent than the PDF: Link I tend to go direct to the registry for storage, but you can also take a look at Object.LocalStorage and Object.PersistStorage. The combo box will not save data if you unload the object, but it will if you just make it invisible (Object.Visible=False). You will have
I downloaded the trial of 12 and used it a bit, with no problems. I eventually decided the upgrade wasn't really worth it, as there didn't seem to be many improvements. Since then I've read other comments about 12 being buggy. Don't know about 11 though.
I've been listening. I agree with Thomas about DesktopSidebar and SmartbarXP.
Corel 8/9/10 does not like WB at all. Not necessarily true - I've been using Corel Draw and Photo Paint 10 for about a year with WB, and no problems.
If you get one of those begging type emails that usually originate in Nigeria, do you ever respond with a begging of your own....or are ever tempted to? I wanted to respond, but not with an email!!! <img src="http:
I have been using WindowBlinds and Corel Draw 10 for the last year on one system, and now on another new one, and have not had any problems.
I've been using a sidebar of one sort or another, for years now. Customized Quicklaunch bars, Desktop Sidebar, Objectbar, ObjectDock, and now I've been rolling my own with DesktopX. The reason I like them is that they give easy quick access to the stuff I use most often. Essential to this for me is the option of auto-hiding the bar and having it always on top in the Z order. I don't even like the standard Windows taskbar unless it's set for auto-hi
I have this problem on one machine (with an older video card) but not on the other. I have had a response from Stardock tech support that they are working on it. It seems to only happen for me (on the older video) with skins that use per pixel alpha.

The fact that the one blind you get transparency with is the only one that doesn't use per-pixel alpha to achieve it should be a clue as to the problem. If you check the System Information in Window Blinds Configuration you will most likely find that your system does not support per-pixel.
Not sure exactly what you need, but for remote access I've been using LogMeIn, which has worked very well, easy setup and access from anywhere with a browser. Link I tried this after looking into alternatives, including RDC. The free version of LogMeIn may do what you need, or if not, the price is pretty reasonble. It saved my butt on a trip during the holidays when I

My position on petitions is that if we were to requisition the input of a mental physician on the aforementioned proposition, they would likely say that such erudition is merely some very public wishin.

You shouldn't be getting ads with the site - as you are a subscriber. Perhaps you used a different email when first registering? If so I think you need to cross-reference, not sure how, but subscribers don't get ads.
Use screenshots supplied and skinstudio Here we go with the copyright issues again.
That happened to me with the Nebula theme, but then I switched back to another and the problem stopped. I figured it was a skin thing, not a WB issue, but I don't know... It appears to be related to per pixel alpha support, as it doesn't happen in skins that don't have it. Neil??
Update: I have restored to my last WB version (5.00[b].006). Stardock Central still reports my WB installation as being 5.00[b].009, although the system info reports different file dates. The problem is still occurring in Firefox, with one correction to my original report: After restoring, the program title bar is gone. I have tried resetting Firefox to use the default theme, with no difference. My current WB info: WindowBlinds
Using the latest beta build of WB5, I have a problem with Firefox version 1.5. Upon loading, the Firefox main window uses what appears to be the classic Windows theme. If I maximize the window, it changes to the WB theme I have loaded. If I then minimize and restore, the Title Bar is now blank, with no buttons. My WB diag info: WindowBlinds 5.0 System Information Report: STATUS : WB+ SRV+ HLP+ UI+ TRAY+ W

Very well written and thoughtful post. Hopefully those to whom it was addressed will read and be moved to some kind of positive response. Thanks for sharing!
note: anyone can make music, it's not friggin' majik... I think what you meant to say was "anyone can't make specious statements". If anyone can make music, then why aren't the downloaders out doing it for themselves? Why the "I'm entitled to it" mentality? The music would not e
