So, just in case anyone else is experiencing the problem that I had, I plugged my laptop into my HDTV and played Demigod and it was super cool. However, when I wanted to play again, after unplugging the HDTV, my laptop screen didn't support the resolution the HDTV was at, and the D3D device just fails to get created. I fixed it by going into the My Documents\My Games\Gas Powered Games\Demigod folder and edited game.prefs. There was a line in it: primary_adapter = '1920,10

I think the biggest issue in why the PC games sales are in decline is that there are only so many FPS and RTS games a person can play before they've seen it all. And since that seems to be about all anyone produces in retail any more for solo players, of course people are going to move on. I used to buy 15-20 games a year for the PC from retail. Now I buy 2 or 3, because I've either seen it before, or they just look so complicated, that I know I won't

Being tired is a perfectly good reason. What I was really trying to say (when I was tired) was that I expected it to run the game, not uninstall, and I would have expected that regardless of whether I was tired or not. The only thing that being tired did was make me click the yes on the dialog before I completely read it. Good UI design makes things the user wants to do easy, and the things they probably don't want to do more difficult. Double clicking to uninstall (regardless of the dialog box)

This is a real pain in the *** as it uninstalls, and if you're tired and don't read the message that comes up, you're downloading several hundred megs of game again. The default for double clicking an installed app should be run, not uninstall. Boy am I pissed. And I haven't received my CD yet, so it's a double pain. ~SDC~

One thing that I thought of is that I have two network cards in the machine I'm playing on. One goes to the net, and one goes to an internal network. My internal network has preference, so if the game is specifically selecting a card, it's probably getting the wrong one. I'll try swapping them when I get a chance. ~SDC~

What would be nice is if the game could tell us if it couldn't reach the metaverse servers. I've submitted two games and haven't seen either one. One thing is I don't understand is why we have to go to the metaverse page to register our player when the game already has all the information. Couldn't it be done from in the game? ~SDC~
