Have to ask the question, could all this be because WB6 can't find the skin where it expects to find it? Have you moved WB6 files around?
No either
Don't take it too personally, sublime20. Hell, someone just ripped one of my OD icons, slapped it on a background they probably ripped , and made it through moderation into the main gallery with 7 stars. WWW Link
I guess errors like this are easily made, as I don't think the moderators recognize each and every Icon/skin immediately. What counts is that it has already been removed. This guy should have been banned, and not just having his stolen work removed. He was already reported in June/July and had to take down ripped work. He just had to remove his complete gallery because none of it was his own work! He also kept hiding the comments (and not all were spam and not all were derogative) and purposefully uploaded more ripped work after he was called out on ripping. ...yet DA only had him remove the gallery!!!! <img src="smiles/Sad.gif"
From the Ubuntu Web-page: "The first 4. release (Warty Warthog) was released in October 2004" "Ubuntu 5.04 ("Hoary Hedgehog") was released in April 2005" I'm glad my memory still works (at least sometimes)
I did that as well this Morning NT. If they don't react soon they will be in violation of their own policy (actually, I think they already are). Left another comment, I'm sure I will be locked out soon as well.
Well...it went from a 'F-F' to a 'G-G'.....so the logical progression sees 'H-H'....
Didn't they have a "Hoary something" version out a couple of years ago? I think the first version of Ubuntu I used was "Warty Warthog" (or something similar)
WC sub = renewed

xpires 2011 ....
yep
Doh! Completely forgot that we have Litestep-themes on WC as well.
an i have installed ltiestep.
You can't use Litestep to run the WindowBlind or DesktopX-themes on this site. you will need the following programs: For Windowblind skins: [link="https://www.stardock.com/products/windowblinds/"]WWW Link[/link] For DesktopX-themes: [link="https://www.stardock.com/products/desktopx/"]WWW Link[/link] The whole ObjectDesktop-suite: [link="https://www.stardock.com/products/odnt/"]WWW Link[/link]
Everytime I've went to apply a skin afterward it only applies the classic theme. I had to uninstall then reinstall the app both times.
I had the exactly the same issue with the WindowBlinds update this time (on Vista64bit too). I can't remember how it was last time, but this time I updated WB and after the next reboot, Vista started with the classic (aka Win98) "skin", and with the WB-control panel open. Whenever I tried to apply a skin nothing would happen at al
While I personally agree that this guy is a low-life and should be removed/banned from DA permanently and as quickly as possible, I feel that the potty language of some of the comments (notably not from the ripped artists themselves) does reflect badly on our community here at WC as well. Yes, it can be frustrating to wait for the reaction of the DA-mods. Why not take a step back, breathe deeply, count until ten and then formulate
Thanks for the help. I found out that the Quest.suite_ had to be renamed to Quest.rar (thanks for the Hint Moletai), while the Quest.suite (without the _) is a zip-File. Great suite, with nice animations. Thanks a lot Stardock!
Is there a way to get the suite without having to install ThemeManager? I downloaded and archived the PremiumSuite (as an sdc-file). When I unzipp this file, I get a heap of folders (AppData, Base, Base32....). In one of these folders I finally find the Quest.suite_ (notice the _ at the end). I rename this to Quest.zip, but whenever I try to unzipp it, WinRar claims it's not a valid archive.
regularly updated page would make sense just so people don't feel like they are in the dark.
I actually agree with that. Missing deadlines are not so much of a problem, we all like software that works, so if it takes a couple of weeks/months longer.....well we can all live with that. It's the fact that new components are often not clearly labelled wether they work with all or just certain Versions of Windows, combined with the fact that often the history-files ar
I really like it. It looks very clean and it is extremely usable as well. This one is a keeper for sure.
Interesting stuff there. I didn't know about the hard-drive bandwidth and I so far have never seen that dialogue during shut-down. When I installed Vista64 on my system I had planned on running XP from the second hard-drive in anticipation of teething problems and program/hardware incompatibilities. I never needed XP and never missed it. Instead I installed Ubuntu on my second drive, just to mess around with it. I agree th
This program is needed to install some games
I know what Alcohol is. My point is; just upgrade to the English language pack using Windows Update. Alcohol has nothing to do with you not being able to install DeskScapes (unless I take it as an indication of how 'genuine' your copy of Vista is).
Wow, freebies for OD-users. Thanks!
I totally agree
I have already tried fixmbr and fixboot. It does nothing. I can't use ununtu to get into windows because Ubuntu is no longer installed. when I used fixmbr it wiped out grub.
I once had the same symptoms on my system. The thing that safed me was to reinstall Ubuntu. But I have to add that Ubuntu was installed on a second Hard-drive and I didn't have to worry whether I overwrite Windows or not. I believe your Windows is still there and complete,
Have you resized the partitions from whithin Ubuntu? Do you normally use GRUB to boot, if yes does this error show up after or before GRUB? If before, have you tried to restore your MBR? If after and if you still can boot into Ubuntu, I would recommend to backup your Data while in Ubuntu.
I might be completey off, but if this shows only if IE is open, it might be because of some script/toolbar installed in IE. Did you download/install any currency converters? Does this show even after a reboot? Does this show if you unload WindowBlinds?
OK, not to be offensive, but Dial-up?.... come on guys, it's almost 2008.
Tell that to the ISPs. They just can't be bothered with the rural areas as there is obviously not enough money in it for them. In Australia I lived 3 hours out of a bigger City (Brisbane), but even ADSL was impossible to get. Closer to the city you were able to get ridiculously expensive deals (something like 50$ a month for a measly 500Mb download cap). Even the Dial-Up cost me still some
I am giving this another bump.
