Anyway, I'm not here to start a contest between the 2 apps, I was really agreeing with you, that the pen tool (in whatever program) ROCKS! I wasn't either sorry if it came across that way, and yes PS and Illus. both can place a gradient in / on the shape and so forth, actually Illus. can place a 'mesh

Trei you are very right, the pen tool is the ONLY way to do anything close to 'vectoring' in Photoshop. Koasati, I've never used the pen tool in PSP but I'm finding it hard to believe it would be that much different or have near as many options and as much control as Photoshops which they brought over from Adobe Illustrator (which is on the same line as Corel and is also great for icons as it is 100% true vector based too).

I would again suggest that before you read this tutorial that you read the other parts of the Pen tool. Part 1: How to use the Pen tool: Link Part 2: Pen tool Pt2: The Selection Tool: Link Ok so now tha

Note: I would suggest first reading How to Use the Pen Tool: Link before reading this tutorial as this is part 2 and plays off of terms and other things explained there. Ok so we covered how to use the pen tool. I kept making references to the fact that you don't have to be too s

Ok so you might be wondering why do I need to know this? Well to be honest the Pen Tool is probably one of the single most useful tools in Photoshop and yet alot of people just have no idea how to use it. This tool will allow you to make custom paths which are vector based. This means that you can create a shape modify it, change it, resize it, and a lot more without

Vagabundus' comment/post (though as he even states, is long) is very intuitive forward thinking and worth reading. He has some very good points and as a visual artist I concur with much of what he said about 'we' think in a different 'format' than most. I couldn't carry on a very useful conversation with most coders though because I have an extensive educational background in what I do I would understand some of what a coder or typographer would be tal

I for one love the idea of a wiki type site for skinning tutorials, facts, documentation and so on... one was started awhile back (Skin-wiki) but after a hack and lack of full support fell out. This I don't think would be anything of a problem with the proper support and backing of Stardock. This combined into a specific site for skinners (from the begainer to the advanced) would be great. I would be a regular staple at such a thing <img src="http://im

Skinning isn't fun? thats a yes and no ... depends on who you talk to, what they skin, thier level of skinning and also (though I hate to say it) if they are graphics people and/or code people (ugh, code). If it involves coding its less fun for me (unless its an easy modded code) cause I'm not a code person. WindowBlinds has gotten much more complicated for even me (I jumped in at 4.0) and the shift to v5.49 has been cool with its new featu

I think Rich has a point.. I don't usually us my IM given I wouldn't get much work done if I did. Actually, I use IM less than I use my IRC (which is nearly every morning and some evenings), I wonder what the #'s would be for IRC and/or if they count that as a 'form' of IM.

Hey freezjeans I remember having a 2400 and we were cool because of it... I never really gave much thought that my nieces (now 10)have always heard of the internet and such... hum... when I was thier age playing 'pac man' on an atari was high tech.

My personal opinion would be that if a wall is not ... um ... good in a since then just rejecting it is kind of worse then letting it go up on a persons personal page. I for one like the idea that WC is NOT like DA. You can browse the galleries here with an amount of assurance that what you see will be at least be decent and not have to go through a lot of 'junk' to find something you might actually want. Hell as is I still only pull off one wall for every 20+ posted. Even I have had walls poste

This tutorial will cover everything you need to know to skin the Start Panel in WindowBlinds 5.49 (WB) using Photoshop (PS) and SkinStudio 5.0.1 (SkS). I’m writing this tutorial as a step by step from start to finish. Some of this might be known by you already but I’m trying to make this tutorial for everyone, even the noobs. 1. Creating the S

Bahu Virupaksha, look in the top right of your WC page when logged in... there is a tab named 'My Skins', click that and it will give you a run down of some nice current stats for all of your skins.
