So if skin A has 8 beans and he gives skin B four beans and divides the other beans between some DX themes, how many beans........... what was the question again? My brain hurts!

Entilza: I would have thought that if you can handle Maya, then you would have NO trouble with Bryce. I have seen the Maya interface on my friends Mac, and it is TRULY scary! Maybe I just have a mental block about 3D programs Just mention "Booleans" and I run for cover. I am currently learning Flash 5, and my brain hurts now. (Don't mention the Timeline!!) I am determined to finish my w

Oh, I should mention that I often make various components of my images as seperate images, and then bring them into the main picture and carefully blend them in so that they look like an integral part of the image, and then hopefully it looks as though they were all painted in one go. Is that cheating, or does everyone work like that?

I suppose 3D effects are a combination of careful use of the airbrush, the smudge tool, lighting and drop shadows. That's the only way I know of. I do spend far too much time adding little bits here and there, and I'm never satisfied. Transmutate: Master? No. I only use all those techniques because programs like Bryce and 3DSMax scare me to death!! And you are a master of them thanks for the compliments guys! <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/boxxi.gif

Hi Humalla, I haven't used PrintShop Deluxe, so I can't comment on it, but you will find that most people who are creating wallpapers are using Photoshop or PaintShop Pro. Photoshop is the industry standard for graphics, but is quite expensive. PaintShop Pro is a lot cheaper and many people prefer it's interface to Photoshop's. You can get a high end graphics program for free, it's called "The Gimp", and I have heard people say that it can achieve anything that Photoshop can, but when I

Greyhaze: Have you looked at a site called "JobServe"? I used to get jobs e-mailed to me every day, and there was always tons of jobs listing the skills you mentioned. I thought it would have been easy to get a job at your age and with your skills! I am VERY surprised. I wish you luck, and if you want to work in a casino as a croupier, I can give you a job anytime, but I doubt it's something you would want to do. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/boxxi.gif" border=0 ALIGN="a

"I think the worst thing, someone can do, is to put a rate 1-3 to some author's work." by Master adni18 - 7/3/2002 2:24:17 PM Adni, are you saying that you never rated anyone's work this low?

I just thought I would remind you all about this cool little skinnable application. It's a clock and resource meter all rolled into one, and if you are new to skinning, it's a good place to start learning as it's very simple to create skins for. Although we have no section for this at the moment, more skins can be found at LotsOfSkins, deviantArt and skinbase. Check it out, I'm sure you will like it.

You won't need skin studio unless you want to skin Window Blinds and other stardock products. For instance, if you want to start simple, then skin a program like QuickNotes or Beatnik. These are very straightforward and you only need a paint program and Notepad (to write the .ini file)

The only way to do that in WindowBlinds would be to make the windows that shape using transparency. But then all windows would be that shape wherever you opened them. Does that make sense?

Oh No!!! Jeez Tim! I hope you decide to come back real quick, I will miss your awesome abilities. To those who may be new to Windows customization, Essorant (Tim Dagger) is one of the finest exponents of desktop skinning on the net today. His clean, inspirational designs have proved massively popular and he must be classed as one of the skinning legends along with the likes of Treetog and Dangeruss. His talents will be sorely missed, and I hope he returns soon to delight us

I don't remember moderating any of your uploads Nite. And I can't imagine someone not sending out the e-mail if they did. Something must have happened to them, but I don't know what. Can you tell me the titles of the pieces, and I'll take a look around?

My first computer was the one I am using now!! I've had it just over 3 years, and that's how long I have been using computers. It's a 233Mhz PII, I have upgraded the graphics card (Matrox Millenium), and now have 320Mb Ram. I am still struggling along with my 3Gb hard drive and 15" monitor, but hopefully, a friend of mine is going to give me his old 8Gb hard drive next week. Luxury!!!
