You can opt to add these problem programs in the exclusions list, under "Per Application". Try either completely excluding them from skinning, or just the titlebar so it kinda looks like the rest of your desktop. I don't have access to that particular skin, but if you have skinstudio, you can edit the text on the toolbar/menu item that has this black on black annoyance. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/wc/smiles/Smile.gif" border=0 ALIGN="absmidd
"Apply Changes", to be more specific.
It is recommended to close all applications before applying a skin. It is also a MUST to reboot after installing WB5. You may try the "Troubleshooting" in the WBConfiguration utility, check the option "Enable if you have corrupted titlebar buttons and text backgrounds. Your graphics card must be able to support alpha-blending. Hope this is helpful.
Do you have LogonStudio installed? You can find it here Link Have you manually explored to find the theme.ini's in question? If so, you may need to go to the gallery and download these Logons seperately. I had problems with getting ThemeManager to download and install theming software, so I just got out my trusty browser and did it myself.
Intuitive...software...wow! Beats my logic.
You must reboot to apply your first beta 5 skin, if you haven't already.
When the WB5 beta was first released, there was a nice little txt with it saying that there was a compatibility issue with WindowFX. Has this been resolved? Or did I miss the memo whilest playing with the new gadgets in WB5?
Get it now while you can. I got mine.
Funny...I switched to nVidia GeForce 5500 from the ATI Radeon 9200 and saw significant speed increase and smoother graphics. I had switched cards to overcome (get this) a conflict with ZoneAlarm: on a clean install of XP SP2 and after updating @ WinUpdate, I installed my ZoneAlarm firewall and rebooted. At restart, I get nothing but a blank-black screen and an instant reboot. After a few emails to MS and ATI, I get the impression that a constant str
Okay, so I am new in posting around here...but I agree with Himangshu, go AMD on an ASUS mobo. Nowadays, board makers are making the mobos so that you have to have a good fan going (plugged in the board) or they won't run...you just get a nice series of beeps. The only reason an AMD might cook through your motherboard is if you are crazy enough to OC the cpu to a point that it is no longer stable AND you forgot to put a fan on it. If you do go AMD,
I am attempting to get a nice glow button effect on a skin, and I am failing miserably. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Thanks Keila, sometimes the smart ones don't see the simple things in front of them. I have sent email to pixstudio asking for permission, but have yet to recieve anything in reply. I guess until then, a screenshot would be the only thing I have available to share.

I am new to skinning. I am an OD subscriber. I download at least one WB skin a day, and doing this is so that I can learn the techniques used by great skinners like Mike Bryant, Pixstudio, Skinplant and even the newer skinners (to my knowledge) like JJ adn studio28. If I did not have the ability to download these 4 to 5 star skins, what would I be learning? As it is, I don't know how to upload skins ( I have several Sysmetrix skins ported, but no k
...added comment... SDC lets me get a download, but only up to (or down to, rather) the "suites" in "Gallery sidebar.
Is anyone having download problems? No links are getting me anywhere...tried first skins ever posted all the way to latest posted.
Everything pops a virus warning in Symantec
Yeah, what does it mean by Stardock Subscription...?
ObjectDesktop for me, too. Comes with all the real goodies, download the public verions of CursorXP, Bootskin and LogonStudio and you have all you need.
Should I have been wearing MY sunglasses?
I'm with lilstar...sounds more like the phlash has the VistaXP WBA and needs the WB 5 beta to get that nice glass substyle. But I could be wrong---call it "benefit of the doubt".
The problem with the SP2 update is that you have to take the time to go back and re-tweak everything that you tweaked before to make it run like speedy Gonzalez. I have that there ugly SP2 update, after tweaking (you know the usual aesthetic and organizational setting, my system loads up in a mere 37.5 seconds, not including the time I take to input my password. If you have a legit copy of XP, I would think that you would want all of the bundle MS ca
Yes, MS should include more themes, but would that put all these great skinners out of "business" by making it more difficult to "wrap" windows? Would the concept cause software like Windowblinds to become obsolete, or would it further the development? Should MS use skins that are made by populace, no. That would take the fun out of it for all of us, who like to diddle with the look of Windows. But, MS should stick to what really counts, like Appre
