What did you use the Dream Manager for?
Well since you asked there were a cpl feature of the manager I found nice and useful if Stardock feels like implimenting them 1. It would let you create groups of themes. By this I mean you could create one called Water art and then mark all of your waterfall dreams into that specific group 2. As I mentioned in my previous post yo
The very latest update on Impulse should hopefully resolve your crash issue as it did for IAmPas just above this post. And it did. I regret having a dream manager, for which I paid, that no longer works now. It would seem to me that stardock should fix it so that the dream mgr. does see them. I paid for the program, and now it don't work, bummer. Other than that, I love the interface.
I've
Okay for those of us running legit RTM's of Win 7 is there any word on when Impules will be allowing us to install things like MyColor? I read the press release that its certified for Win7 but as of today when I tried to install mycolor on my Win7 System it gives the same old "This program is not compatible" mssg. Very fustraiting
Sweet!! Any place we can DL this from yet?
I really miss my dreamscapes since beta testing Windows 7. Please Stardock give us a beta or at least an ETA on when we might see on. There are various "Hacks" and such out there but I've refused to use them in hopes you would give us something official to work with. For your loyal users please show some compassion[e digicons]:')[/e]
Yep, its officially RTM'd now so gimme gimme I want my dreams LOL
I tend to agree and have resited using the edit but at the same time I really miss my dreams have a ton that are totally unusable for now and a subscription to another dreams site thats going to expire and I'll have to renew out of pocket waiting for Stardock[e digicons]X([/e]
Can understand the view concerning the hack but would think Stardock might also understand its members/users fustraition as well so how bout a beta for those of us who are legitimatly testing Win 7 for MS?[e digicons][/e]
Whats the diff between Deskscape free and the one on impulse? Also where would I find it? Might just give it a shot if a beta isn't going to happen soon. I miss my moving walls. Found a hack by Orbit30 but that only works with mpgs not dream files
To Old Crab: Usually, at least in the past, if you have an active sub when the new version comes out they seem to give you the upgrade. At least I think thats how it worked last time IIRC. As for Deskscape3...YEAH! & HURRRY!!! I test Win 7 and have really been missing my animated desktops. I was actually afraid they had maybe abandoned it since MS doesn't seem to be doing anything with animated desktops in Win 7 so far. Hopefully a beta will show soon.
Well with Win 7 basically being RTM'd around the 13th, any chance of us seeing a beta of deskscape soon Shirley?
Well I tried doing the rename the extention to mpg but when I try to play them with media player or on of my other DVD players that can do mpg files they both reported some complaint about unsupported format.
While we're stuck waiting for a beta of Deskscape for Win7 is there an easy way to convert *.dream files to either WMV or MPG format? I found a fix by Orbit30 that will allow those to run as desktop but unfortunatly it won't do Dream files [e digicons]:([/e]
Good news and I'll keep an eye out! Dreams are one thing alot of ppl beta testing Win7 really miss from posts I've read on technet etc.
Yeah it got fixed. Sadly tho, at least for now I'm only running Win 7 and haven't figured a way to use dreams with it, Waah :( But I'm still grabbing everything you put out in hopes LOL
It's really exasperating seeing this post (and all the almost identical ones to it) when one looks at the Forums...and there's one EVERYday.
Oh so sorry for exaperating you. Maybe if you didn't bother to read this thread then it wouldn't bother you now would it? Face it, with a thread title like this one has "Windows 7... anyone?" what did you expect to read about in it. Just made sense to ask here instead of starting new thread
Any idea on an ETA for a beta win 7 compatible version. I don't mind waiting but at the same time can't help but hope[e digicons][/e]
Humm, I think the dream your looking for is "Desktop Earth.dream" but it doesnt seem to be available as a seperate download in the gallery. Try and do a HD search for desktop*.dream and maybe you can find it somewhere on your system. If all else fails send support an email with your account info and maybe they will be kind and send you the file. I would email it to you but am sure Stardock would frown on that, sorry. Only other thing I can think of is backup your My Documents/stardock
Yep, seemed whatever the issue was SP2 cured it...once again a happy camper
Well Blissfull dream is working fine as well. No idea what in SP2 fixed things but its definitly my suspicion that it was something in it that resulted in the fix as untill I installed that anything that used transitions would fail
Opps dbl post sorry
Actually it appears it was SP2 that fixed the problem, at least for me. Denali worked fine yesterday and now am running anothor dream that used to give me the issue "BlissfullDream" and will post back once its time for it to change.
Okay I give up LOL. for the longest time Triggered dreams wouldn't work for me period. Then the other day I noticed over on MSDN that the official release version of SP2 for Vista was out so I dl and installed it. Anyway now when I use a triggered dream they work just fine. Have no idea what the problem was, maybe I had a hinky file or something in the SP2 fixed a file but now they work so I'm going to go hide LOL.
If you look at my post #13 you will see I did all of that. I'll send a report to support but last time I just got no reply :( To Carguy1: Denali is one of the ones that fails for me. I'll give it another shot today and leave it running all day but am not holding out hope :) By the way Carguy, I have your gallery especially bookmarked as I LOVE your work, hehe
This is done intentionally. DeskScapes is one of those apps that simply does not work yet on Windows 7. You'll constantly get that uxsms error and there is nothing that can be done to fix it with the current release.
Sadly, with the latest version of Deskscape, 2.5, the same problem exists with Vista x64 when one tries to run a dream that is designed with transitions. Whenever you run a transiti
