Okay did a little more searching the MS KB and found this article. Link The error matches the symptoms of the Visual C++ .NET example other than the exe being Desktopx and builder exe's. Does this info help someone suggest how I can fix this?

nope, Finally tried it this AM. Enabled for all then excluded both versions of DX. SAtill got buffer overrun error plus for some reason after switching to the protect all mode it introduced a static noise when I moved my mouse. Reset it to just protect windows and static gone. Sure wish I could figure out whats wrong/fix it.

Help weird Buffer Overrun error in DesktopX Stardock Forums

I could really use some help. About a week ago I suddenly started getting a pop up window with a title of "Microsoft Visual C+++ and the mssg is/was that DesktopX had a buffer overrun error and is shutting down. The only thing new I'd installed at that time was the Demo of Myst 5. Anyway restoring to a day before and the error vanished, till now of course. Unfortunatly Chazz manually closing Dx may work for you but that doesnt work here. It was actually the very first thing I tried. Did a sucessful closing and then tried to run app and Viola same old mssg. Seeing how "Smartexception" doesnt even catch a shutdown error with it Im at a loss as to why its being so fussy. Problem with newest beta of DesktopX in DesktopX Stardock Forums

Okay. Everything was working fine and saw notice of new DX beta this am so installed it. On reboot I get a mssg about DX not closing properly. That it could be caused by a corupted desktop or old script. Then it says do you want to load a new blank (click yes) or continue loading old theme (click no). No matter which I chose it then loads up the theme Ive used the last few months and everything works till I reboot and then I go thru the same routine ag

Not sure but I was getting errors like that and went to the Chat of SDC to let someone know and discovered the Motd says you have to uninstall old version before you install 4.5 (duh). After I did that it installed just fine. Seems they really should post that info about needing to remove the old ver in the history txt so others don't get stuck

compared to when I had to edit my host file to connect this is minor to me at least but am definitly leaning towards the comment about image size causing it since they don't wish to display even plus listing itself 2 times. Its odd tho cause if I use ie and go to the skin it shows just fine. Maybe just a codeing error as to path to image or something but all wild guessing on my part <A HREF

only time Ive gotten the message is when using WC Browser if look at "Updated" skins it first gives me that message , click okay and the items display EXCEPT for Sleek WMP skin. That shows 2x at the top of the list and neither one shows an image just a red x for the graphic, all others do show images so maybe there is something to image size comment but what do I know. Doreen, ...no, if you use webblinds and go to tools - webblind settings you can change the toolbar (the row of icons for Back Forward Stop Refresh etc) there as well as throbber image. On my system Ive only got a default, Luna and one other to choses from right now tho.If you go to the luna subfolder of webblinds directory you'll see it has a few files called like hot toolbar deftoolbar etc. Those files are whats used Probably how to make would be covered in a Webblinds howto guide ...if I

cool and appreciated,considering you do this for fun its really nice you will consider ppls requests for stuff. I'd try it myself but for some reason I just have a terible time understanding/working with transparencys in Corel PPaint 11 so just opening someone elses and cut pasting just doesnt work hehe I end up with pink backgrounds .

am wondering if any way to obtain such a creature? Seems to me the prob is that it would use art that was from ToonXP which is buy only so not sure if can do it legally for downloads. The other 2 alternatives are to: a) beg Mormegil to waste his time creating one, or b) do it my self (roflmao at that idea), Im willing to try tho if someone can point me to a good guide for makeing em.
