The game does not crash. It just runs really slow with 1.3. 1.2 is fine

After upgrading to 1.3 the game has slowed to a crawl. First i used Stardock Central to update. The game loaded fine, started a new game and while in the appearance tab i noticed the ship in the preview window was really sluggish. Started said game and thats when things slowed down, way down and unplayable. It seemed like there was no hardware acceleration. Music and sound was fine but the graphics just chug along. Read the manual or watch the tutorials in the game. Those should answer most questions you have. As for the "coloured lines on the main map", i find them very nice and quite appealing.

I have the same problem.. First thing i did was a complete reinstall of the game plus stardock central. Still have the giant stars. I deleted all stardock and galciv files and folders before reinstalling. Did maintanence and a defrag before reinstall too. The game is unplayable now. I waited all week for this and now i dont know what to do. Please help. I dont want to play Civ 4 tonight. Please help! I always do a complete reinstall for a major update. I dont mind entering my long serial ev

Ive been playing 6 to 8 hours per day for the past 2 weeks and have had not one CTD. I have not had much sleep either. The game is installed on an older machine, Pcchips M810lr motherboard with an 1gig AMD Duron, 512 sdram, 128 mb ATI Radeon agp, Creative Live 24 bit sound, XP pro Sp2. The game runs perfect. Same problem here. I wish they would just let me download it like the first patch. I really dont like to have had to install Stardock central just to get a patch. Will i run into problems uninstalling stardock central after i get the patch? Sorry for the complaint, i have had not one problem with the game or anything to do with the game except this. Ive been wiating all week for this, maybe im getting to impatient.
