I've made an update available that addresses activation and multiplayer login on Windows 8. If you are using Steam, the game will automatically update to this version. If your install is through Impulse, the update was published there as well. New installs from the Stardock store have the updated files going forward. To update previous standalone installs from the Stardock store, you can grab a patch from https://stardock.cachefly.net/Demigod_network_update_111612.exe. This

Lord Reliant, the full 1.02 standalone install is up on the store as well. It took a little longer for me to make live earlier. Kris
The installer can be run with a /s switch to install silently, but it's going to prompt on first run to start the trial period or to unlock your registered purchase. The activation system is somewhat liberal, but if you are constantly redeploying fresh images and reactivating essentially a new VM each time, you're going to have trouble eventually. A far cleaner solution is to install Start8 in the base VM, activate it, and then use that as the core of the snapshot/image
I just saw the uninstall issue with the multiple items in testing last week. I have a fix for it going forward with future updates. Kris
Download, extract, and replace the sdactivate.exe in the WoM directory with the updated version in http://sd.stardock.com/sdactivate_win8.zip. I need to get updates packaged for a couple of games with that changed for Windows 8, but this'll do for this week. Kris
Look for the Multiplicity directory (in \program files\stardock\Multiplicity or \program files (x86)\stardock\Multiplicity probably). From the start menu, type in "command prompt" and then right click on it to launch as administrator. From the command line, change to the directory with the old version of Multiplicity and install its service. cd "\program files\stardock\multiplicity" multisrv32.exe -uninstall multipl.exe unload erase multi*
I have a Stardock badge by my user and member #2. A sig would be overkill. Kris
No, it's not available via Stardock Central. The 1.01 update will be. Kris
A beta/pre-release of Fallen Enchantress 1.01 is available now available for download. A patch installer for 1.00 is available from https://stardock.cachefly.net/FallenEnchantress-1.004_beta_update_setup.exe for standalone installs direct from Stardock's store. Steam users can update to the beta by right-clicking on the Fallen Enchantress entry in Steam and selecting Properties,
If you are restoring the same image of Windows (as opposed to laying down a fresh installation), then you would have Start8 installed as part of that image and make sure it and \programdata\stardock\registrations\start8sig2267.bin are restored. No access to the Internet would be required as it would already be activated against that OS image. I don't know what you're using for reloading, but we use several different tools (Rollback RX, the discontinued Time Machine from Comodo
I suspect it was Windows Defender chugging a bit as it tried to display the UAC prompt (from when you first clicked on the .exe to launch it). Kris
The updated Stardock Central has been made live for everyone. Kris
Based on feedback and error logging on the server, we've put together an updated Stardock Central that should handle some conditions better. https://stardock.cachefly.net/stardockcentral285-setup.exe Added checking md5 of chunks after each chunk is written to disk (vs just in memory) Added retries around the new code path for checking md5 after the chunks were written Added additional error logging to server (for more verbose reporting of md5 vs file locking time
The self-extractor is a .7z one, so you would need an extractor that can handle that format. You can also email kwilas at stardock dot com and I can provide an alternative download in smaller chunks. Kris

A small Stardock Central update with additional logging for errors has been pushed out. We're putting additional retries into place if it hits a speed bump in the download process, but that's still being tested internally. Best additional suggestion testing here today: exclude the %USERPROFILE%\Downloads\Stardock directory from your anti-virus, or turn the AV off during the download. We've got at least one reproducible test case with file i/o getting blocked by the AV during downl

What's the file size of the completed (corrupted) download? Should be 3,217,279,519 bytes for 0.992. If you still have a bad copy of the file, grab the download from http://www.winmd5.com/ and check the md5 of it to see if there was corruption in transfer vs something happening when the self-extractor wrapper is running (which then kicks off the .exe for the install). Should be 0db9c530a846752a71a0c636fe828764.
I've checked with the 90 day Enterprise trial, but have not tried with a "pure" Enterprise edition. Start8 is running fine on it, that error message is from a version check failing. http://sd.stardock.com/Start8_ent_check_remove.exe will pop that error message and 2 others with version numbers, then it'll let the install continue. Please email kwilas at stardock dot com the 2 versions it displays. Kris
I was probably around employee #12, though I've been helping test Stardock software since Brad was the only employee. Apart from Brad, there are 2 other employees who have been here longer than myself. Kris
It's live from the store download page, Stardock Central, or Steam (as appropriate). https://stardock.cachefly.net/FallenEnchantress-0.992_update_mini_setup.exe will patch the 0.990 or 0.991 beta5 builds as well and is much smaller of a download. Kris
