How old is the version you are trying to patch over? 0.983 would only patch a few more recent previous builds from before it, though I didn't realize until today how that error condition would show up. Kris

You forwarded an email as an attachment and the mail server erred on the side of caution and ate it. You'll want to resend it, preferably not as an attachment (though I allowed those for emails to now). Kris
We'll get that addressed. Kris
This should be sorted now. Stardock Central needed to know precedence for Fences 2 over Fences Pro. I've also updated the version in SDC to 2.00.2 so it shows as an update and fetches a new installer that sets that in the registry. Kris
No. The trial is fully functional for 30 days and we'll be adding more features. If you find it less useful for the next 900+ days than paying for one lunch or a coffee, then I'm afraid we radically differ on value on what is free vs eventually purchased. Kris
Create your snapshots once you've registered/activated the software and it'll be fine. Yes, that includes a couple of vms or machines, the system is flexible to a point. Though if you find value in it on multiple machines, I would encourage you to buy additional copies (the price is right) or perhaps try and purchase one of our other apps or games. Activation of a registered product does not phone home after the activation is complete. You should allow network access and
We are evaluating creating an MSI. At the moment you can use the ADMX files in the sub-directory to assist in deployments Kris
We're exploring whether one of the data files isn't getting replaced properly. If anyone can still reproduce this, please email kwilas at stardock.com the FallenEnchantressPatchLog.txt and data\english\ElementalDefs.xml files from \program files\stardock games\fallenenchantress. Yes, a completely clean install would probably also be happy. Though give us a little bit here and save redownloading 2.7GB. Kris
Yes, it runs on Windows 8. And will be supported on the release version of Windows 8 when available. The website will be updated in the coming weeks. Kris
I am attempting to use Symantec's service to whitelist future patches, but their page suggests it may take up to 3 weeks. Hopefully, once it sees a few submissions with our digital signing certificate, it'll move that into the "happier by default" phase of things. Kris
Looks like things are sorted out. If you don't get the update automatically, you may need to restart the Steam client to jumpstart things.
What he said. If you're still not seeing the update after restarting the Steam client (make sure right-click on Properties / Updates / Automatic updates is set to Always keep this game up to date), you can use the 'Verify integrity of game cache...' button on Properties / Lo
I think we've found what was unhappy with the webservices and fixed it for the moment. At some point in the next month or so, there will also be an update pushed for WoM, Demigod, and Sins: Trinity for Windows 8 compatibility, though that is not directly related to this particular issue for mp. Kris
It's on my todo list to look at some fixes for it after I get a copy of the Windows 8 RTM code and can better evaluate what needs changing there as well. Kris
+2 for Fringe and MI-5 (Spooks to Jafo, though yes, people tend to die) Kris

A new WindowFX Beta 2 Update 1 build is available from the store downloads page or Stardock Central that should address the cpu spiking and staying high. Kris
It should show now in Stardock Central. Backend issue when updating the links earlier. Kris
Cannella29, it doesn't know yet how to handle the Steam-required Rebellion beta. All the updates for that will be handled automatically by Steam, but atm it's just ignoring that registration on your account in the display. Kris
DueAccident, check email. You should be set. Also, the email receipt would have said to contact . Kris
The most likely culprit is bad RAM. This can have corrupted a few bytes of the download or it could be corrupting things during the extract operation. Had it happen last week with one of the developer laptops. Windows 7/Vista include a Windows Memory Diagnostic (forget the name on Vista) that does an excellent job of checking for that. I am emailing Erzeal separately with something more technical to try (to see if the download is already corrupt) + an alternative set of
I plugged the full URL into the update field and you caught it while I was testing the links were correct earlier. Kris
And that's why you always leave a note... fixed link to remove the . that thought it would be cool to hang around. Kris
Fallen Enchantress Beta 2 Patch 1 (version 0.86) is available for download from the Stardock store. You should find a patch update if you already have the game installed (so you don't have redownload the whole game). Players installing for the first time will need to apply the "Full Beta" download and then download and install the "Beta Update". If you are reading the forums and have 0.85 already, I have also put together a smaller 0.85 -> 0.86 onl
The build is up on the store download page ( https://store.stardock.com/myaccount/products ). The first link is a full install of 0.85 for new users. Anyone with previous versions of Beta1 can use the Beta Update download to get the patch installer (~200MB). rahamundo, it should be on
