Malleus, did you register the boxed copy under another email address? I've updated the account you are posting under to show the beta, though I would appreciate it if you could email [email protected] the WOM serial you are using. Beta1 was made available today for customers who had pre-ordered before the release of WOM directly from Stardock/Impulse. " The beta release will go in two phases. January 19 will be to everyone who pre-ordered WOM. A week later will be everyone

All the PAX pre-orders should now have the beta on their account. https://store.stardock.com/myaccount/products Kris
The crash appears to be related to user credentials not correctly getting copied/written to HKCU registry locations. Workaround: Extracting the contents of http://sd.stardock.com/gc2_ultimate_2.04.2.zip to the GalCiv2\Twilight directory should also fix the crash. More/better fix to make sure all HKCU settings keys are set properly from registration: </
Most Demigod customers will already have a Stardock account. If you do not, and need to create an account, use https://services.stardock.net/accounts/createaccount.aspx . There is also a link on that page to https://www.stardock.com/accounts/accountsetup.asp?SDID=1&Hide=True which can be used to reset your password info
I can't speak to the error that Impulse is throwing. If it's an error coming from Impulse, that's not something Stardock can help with anymore. FWIW, I've looked at your account information and it all seems cool. As you have Sins, Entrenchment, and Diplomacy, I have added a Sins - Trinity registration to your Stardock account. You can redownload the whole bundle from the My Downloads link on https://store.stardock.com. Thoumsin
I have removed the bad 4.00.017 download from being available. At present, for Pro and Pro (upgrade - added back), there is the 3.96 beta available. As RedneckDude says, there is no longer the client/builder mode distinction and exporting as sidebar gadgets are gone. The plugins have been moved to Users\Public\Documents\Stardock\DesktopX\sdplugins (next to the objects).
I'm a little biased (as I pushed for the development of DeskScapes for years before it came out), but I reorganized my wallpaper folders just for the Moving Wallpaper dream (as I liked it so much).
The standalone beta install isn't prompting as part of the install for activation yet. As the activation path changed, if you use the standalone beta, you will need to enter your Stardock account information under Add Features / Activate existing purchases. Kris
An updated 7.30.047 version is available via the My Accounts page on the Stardock store. I will see about updating the Impulse build on Friday. There are a couple of specific compatibility fixes and a bunch of updates to the Win8 Metro skin (Windows XP and Office 2007 oddities in particular).
mjgoya, when prompted for activation, use your email address and your Object Desktop serial number (either of them, your original or the renewal order) and it'll activate. Tested here with Fences available from your products download page at https://store.stardock.com/myaccount/products . Kris
The new installer wasn't overwriting files properly. Fresh installs were fine. I've fixed it. https://store.stardock.com/myaccount/products And yes, in the future, the new updater will show this and fetch it for you rather than having to visit the web page yourself. Kris
I suspect the new installer needs a little "help" when it comes to forcibly overwriting existing files. I'm looking. Kris
You should be all set if you restart Impulse. Added Ultimate to your Impulse account.
There is a more recent version available from their website, but some of the preloaded machines don't have it. You'll need to reboot after installing the update. http://www.alienwarearena.com/pages/alien-guise/
What Neil said. I've reuploaded a new build to https://stardock.cachefly.net/WindowBlinds7_public.exe that should work around the issue as well. Kris
Try again now. Kris
It's probably 5 minutes, but neither of us wrote that code. Kris
I've posted the updated build. Sorry about the inconvenience. Kris
Pacov, you're welcome to try on any platform, it shouldn't hurt (though I felt that about the previous one from testing :). Kris
We think we have a fix that I'll stage for release tomorrow (want to try the other platforms in testing to make sure they didn't break). Anyone having trouble should be able to extract http://sd.stardock.com/demigod_032311_hotfix.zip to the .\bin directory. If that helps/works, please note that here along with what OS you are running. Kris
We've reproduced the error in at least on test case and are looking into how to fix it. There'll be another update when that happens. Kris
We're looking into why some people are having trouble. Kris
I've published a new version today (1.30.160 on Impulse). There are no changes to the game code, it's a networking-related update for web services. Kris
Barring anything unexpected, tomorrow (Feb 10). Kris
For this weekend, if you email [email protected], I can see about sorting it as well. Kris
