2.1 ghz P4 runs fine, even though my ships move somewhat choppyly in the game. Funny thing is that the other ships run smoothly after I hit the turn button.

Were they researching it or building it?
I'm not sure that comparing GC's mechanics to that of the US's is going to be helpful. I'm just asking for additional clarity as to how morale works to minimize my frustation and that of other people who buy the game. :notsure:
Does anyone else think that its strange that players know to an exact percent what the morale of a planet is but doesn't know how that number is derived? I have a 108% morale ability from the Domestic Policy - Stats screen. Yet my new planets, with populations below 1 billion, start off with a sub-50% morale figure. I hunt down the anomalies with a passion, my tax rate is 25- 28%, have the second highest treasury in the galaxy, etc., and still the new planets are in a rebellious mood. Damned
This has probably been discussed before but, without a forum search function, I can't find it. It would be helpful if there was a feature like in Civ 3 that the citizens will tell you what is making them unhappy. That way a player would know what he could do to correct the situation. Some of my planets are at 100%, some are below 50%, but I don't have a good idea why that is in either case. :notsure:
No vote came up on the UP zoo. Did there need to be? I've heard that the UP zoo is bad news and would have quit the UP before taking the chance on getting it.
I received "reports of confused alien creatures wondering into populated areas. While most of these animals are unconfrentational, . . ." Besides the typos (wandering and nonconfrontational), this occured on Sol. Did these animals escape from a zoo, or are they pets that were let go like flushed baby alligators? LOL
The Alexians were building colony ships every other turn at the beginning of the game. I agree with magus that they are broken. :(
One of the things I liked about MOO1 was the funny way the aliens would insult you. Humor is always a good thing in a 4x game. LOL
After you win, I got the "Final Summary Score" screens. The "Overall Score" is just the Military score. The Economy screen listed my average monthly income as negative 72 bc/month. That's not right. The Timeline did not work. Forgive me if this had been posted previously.
I left the UP when they wanted me to share all my tech with them. I don't trade as often as I should, so it saved me from given all of my hard earned tech to those lazy freeloaders!
Is RubberDucky666 a Nigerian name? Because I think I've received an e-mail like this before. Although last time it was for more than $.57 American dollar. LOL
My annual report had the following text. Human Ascension blah blah blah "The war has been going on for 620 years . . ." No, it hadn't! blah blah blah "According to our reports, our military might (our fleet's attack & defense) is rated at 60 while their's is only 18899999401." My fleet was definately more powerful than theirs. Lastly, the word "military" is repeated spelled "miltary" on the starbase module descriptions. All for now.<

After checking out my old save games, I can prove that resouces can appear mid-game. However, I was wrong about the 4 new resources appearing - only one was an actual resource - the other three were just starbases.
In my current game resources were added to sectors well after the start of the game. A cluster of 4 appeared with an area of 9 squares after I had already surveyed the sector. Of course, they were near a competitors system, not mine! >:( I am definately talking about resources, not the anomalies.
Thanks. Another mystery solved. :D
MOO isn't RTS. The combat part of it might be, but not the meat of the game. If it was RTS, the howls of the fanbase would deafen us all! :sniff!:
Does anyone else have their ships disappear? Ships move into "grey" squares, and they disappear, only to reappear after they move into a lighted square. I only notice this after sensors is researched.
Lucky Jack: "I don't think those people represent any part of GC's audience." You've got to be kidding. LOL MOO fans run the gauntlet of 4x strategy players, and GC would appeal to a good share of them. There are over 2000 posts in MOO's Technolgy & Research forum alone! I would love it if a quarter of the people who buy MOO3 buy GC as well, since MOO3 will sell in the hundreds of thousands. AS far as I'm concerned, the more 4x games there are the better, and MOO3 is bound to be a
Alien race asks for a trade: "Hello human, we are intereseted in trading rechnology with you." I accept their lame :notsure: trade. Their response: "And this is a good deal HOW?" Only the tech they want and the one they offer are visible. This can't be blackmail.
The alien race doesn't seem to be blackmailing me by the tone of the text. Next time it happens I'll write down what they say.
Typos - Foreign Policy screen Minor races - Scottlingas? -2nd para, 1st line "Degades ago" should be "Decades ago". Treaties - "Declarations of Wa" should be "Declarations of War" or, if not enough room, "State of War". State of War is probably more appropriate. When alien races ask for a trade, the info for both races is missing, ie Star Systems is empty, Tech is empty, Starships is empty, etc. Only the tech they wanted is listed along with want they are offering, although th
I played on and off for ~3 hours yesterday and the game played without crashing. Today it crashes repeatedly to Windows during the second turn. :sniff!: Three quarters of the galaxy is mine, but it looks like I need to start another game. I'll keep the save game just in case someone wants to look at it.
Try taking some of those zinc lozenges. And honey, nature's antibotic. Did anyone ever see the movie "Twelve Monkeys"?
