Hooray! This one bug has crashed the game more than every other one combined. Thanks!

I have a situation where a ship from empire X and a ship from empire Y are both occupping the same planet. I was at war with both empires, but I still couldn't attack them. Now they're stuck and I can't capture the planet. What can I do?
I have had a similar problem to what John described above: after colonizing a system, the game crashes when the next ship is selected from the ship list.
While I also like BOF (I'm playing a game now between GC crashes :sniff!: to alleviate the frustration), I always felt that its handling of combat left a lot to be desired. Too fast, and a crushing defeat of half your fleet was treated the same as a retreat of one scout (morale wise). A lot of features aren't requirements for 4x games, but successful ones do tend to have a good balance. If GC's diplomacy is its primary draw, and the beta's diplomacy model is up and running, then someo
Designing ships is fun. It adds personal choice to the game in an immediate sense, which dosen't hurt even the most cerebral of games. A players strategy may take hours or days to unfold, but that long-range, low offense cruiser I just designed sure was neat. People who are beta testing the game (and those that will eventually buy it) aren't looking for a RTS (in its present day sense), but a little extra flash wouldn't hurt.
When my Windows XP system starts, I get the following error messsage: "MCPServer has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."
That's right, I was only kidding. ;) I'm sure that someone who wanted a copy of the game would be a paragon of virtue, and would never deserve such an underhanded deed.
The other games/mp3's I play sound fine. I'm using my motherboard's built-in C-Media 8738 sound chip with Logitech 560-Z speakers (I know, I know, an average sound chip with great speakers doesn't make much sense, but that's the way I set up my system!). I don't know if they've been testing this game with many Windows XP systems, cause it has more bugs that a stary cat has fleas. :p Still like it alot, but the continual crashes are getting to me!
I get alot of annoying morse code-like clicks and pops during gameplay. I've tried turning off music/fx/sounds to no effect. Anyone else have this problem?
The same thing has happened to me, but with almost all of my ships. One will still move, but the others are frozen in space. I gave up that game and started another (I was losing anyway). :notsure:
This has started to happen to me every time I reload a saved game. Usually its a battle cruiser, but the last time it was my survey ship. What files do I need to send to you? (:(
Send him some virus infected files :) !
I agree. Version number on the main menu is needed.
I only have 111 files as well.
How can you tell what version of the beta you are playing? On the Dregin Net game screen, it shows I have 0.3.001 installed, but I have no idea what version that may be. Also, the game crashes repeated when I click on a cruiser using the ship screen. What do I need to send to you to have the bug squashed?
