How can I disobey? Don't worry-- I'm doing my part on DLs--If I could only find an avatar...

[[ When I started reading your post, I thought you were leaving ]] What a milestone You deserve it. I'm using one of your beautifully crafted skins right now. Looking forward to many more! <img src="http://images.stardock.com/wc/smiles/Congrats.gif" bo
Let me add that I love this place- We get so many pre-tested, malware-safe skins with a broad range of taste and expertise, ranging from professional skins to submissions created with MS Paint-- very democratic & enlightening. Also minimal flaming, especially in skin evaluations. All these things are part of the investment
I'm curious- I already have ObjectDesktop, ObjectDock Plus & CursorXP Plus. Will I be hitting a limit if I don't subscribe on top of these purchases?
You have been in my thoughts all day. My prayers are with you.
LOL I'm open for offers on that one!
Yeah! The .exe's & program shortcuts are back now. Thanks again BTW, the wallpaper *was* a picture I never saw before-- It was a wall that came with a new WindowBlind I installed a couple of hours before my 1st comment. Don't know why it spontaneously appeared-- could have been a coincidence that it happened when I clicked Rebuild Icon Cache. Dunno what might have brought it to the screen <img src="http://images.stardock.com/
I just got out of regedit & had the same result as you-- The 1st 2 items were OK, but the key in #3 did exist-- but not anymore! Thanks for your help. I'll run Restore All Icons & take it from there. Have a good evenin' & take care
Thanks! I had assumed I could get the .exe icons back with Restore All Icons, but tried it just now & it behaved as described above (ie, applied the generic icon to the .exe's-- the difference being, with Restore, the generic is the XP generic) What does Rebuild Icon Cache actually do? I wrote my guess in the 1st post, but have not idea if I'm right.
It's true... but Rebuild Icon Cache is the 2nd of 2 issues. I'm using IP 3.00.090, but the 1st problem began several builds ago. It's the reason I was fooling around with features I'm unsure of. 1) IP replaces the icons on my .exe files (& consequently all their shortcuts) with the generic icon from the pkg I loaded. If I try to change shortcuts back to the default icon manually (thru properties setting}, they revert to the generic setti
I'm excited I like alot of the darker skins, but have a hard time reading menus & dialogs on most of them. Will we be able to touch up older skins by adding this effect to the fonts or backgrounds? If not, I hope some skinners decide to shine up a few of their darker creations from the past-- there's alot of good work that would be usable to a new audienc
Thanks everybody-- maybe next time I'll have an avatar
Also should we uninstall the older version of Theme Manager before upgrading, or will the install program take care of everything?
Thanks 00 Anybody happen to know which Icon Pks came with the IP installation? would it damage anything if I re-install IP to get those pks back? IP doesn't seem to be the most robust of programs & I don't want to screw it up...
BTW, how do you get an atavar? My smileys (above) didn't even come through-- guess it's that kind of day...
Thanks- I've already started rebuilding- still have alot of the zips from downloading, so it won't be too bad. The good part about being new to a piece of software is that there's less to lose. Also, it's a reminder to keep back-ups. I would have been upset if I had put together some custom ip packs. At this point, it's just a matter of remembering what was there & loading it up again
Thanks-- I'd already checked there. (I'd never use a bypass for Recycle Bin-- my safety net). Thanks for the suggestion, though
I thought I was deleting a particular ip file using Theme Manager. Instead, the entire ip\Themes folder vanished Yesterday I had added several Icon Pks-- it there any way to recover the folder? I have back-ups on alot of the Icon Pks, but I never expected Theme Manager to do something so radical. I have version 2.1.0.1-- is this version the new release announced on the home page, or are w
autoinstall? DOH! I knew I should have come by here sooner...
For a few days, I have been getting a runtime error when trying to browse from one page to another-- sometimes it happens when I'm going forward & sometimes when backtracking. Bought & installed OD over the same time period- probably coincidental. It's not happening on other sites. Not a huge deal, as I can type in www.wincustomize.com & start over. Here's the message: Error message: Server Error in '/' Application.<BR
