I take back my previous post. The forums still has numerous problems. :( Editing isn't working correctly, as everyone else has noticed. In addition, I noticed we *still* can't edit our posts after someone has responded to it. I also see that I can't break my posts into paragraphs -- it's as if the Enter key doesn't work. Please fix this as well! Otherwise we're going to have long rambling posts with no discernible breaks in them. :p
The only thing I can see that would be particularly useful would be to not just see posts by a user whose ID you click on but threads they’ve replied to as well.
I second Squidlord. In fact, I was really hoping to see this feature with the forums being updated. It would be nice to see *all* posts made by a person, and not just threads they've started. I also hope the edit function gets fixed as well. It's rather annoying, to be honest. The forum definite
Seriously, I hope to see this thread become 10000 + posts long. Just PLEASE post some picts with hot girls in them. Think about our eyes and bleach bath we may have to subject them to without such images to balance things out.
*Ahem*

So do you want to go ahead and admit right no
What are you talking about? You could carry on your own way if there was a campaign mode included. If they included a campaign, that doesnt mean all of a sudden the non-story singleplayer game dissappears. It's just an extra mode.
As it happens, I actually agree with you on that. Not that I have a problem with Ironclad's decision to leave out the campaign for now (I personally don't feel it's necessary), but I do understand why people would want one. <br/

You should advertise at Gamespy for sure. They're one of the few PC game sites my friends and I trust, especially when it comes to strategy games. :CONGRAT: I suppose you could consider Gamespot as well, but that's a little iffier. On the one hand they have a large audience. On the other hand, their credibility has obviously gone down the tubes lately, and so you might not want Sins to be associated with them. :NOTSURE:

I do like the backstory for Sins, and I'm especially interested in the Vasari. What caused their massive empire to suddenly collapse? Exactly who (or what) are they running from, and did that have to do with why their empire died? And perhaps most imporant of all, what'll happen if/when the Vasari's mysterious persuers finally catch up with them while they're still passing through TEC space? Needless to say, I'm already looking forward to when Ironclad gets around to releasing the

Thanks for all the recommendations, guys. I appreciate it. :D
I like Medieval Total War 2. However it is more historic rather then fantasy, but a great turn based strategy game IMO. Besides, who does not like seeing a large group of spear man getting smashed with a oil covered flaming boulder.
Thanks, but I've already got the original MTW, which is far superior. ;)

That's a pretty good list, GW. :HOT: In addition to all those, I would also add the following: 1.) A AI that's not only competent, but also behaves (as Frogboy would put it) somewhat "human-like". (It's also nice when the AI doesn't cheat, at least not overtly.) This is of obvious important to 4x gamers, as we tend to prefer singlplayer campaigns over MP more often than not. 2.) A strong diplomacy system -- and more specifically, one that the comput
I'm in the middle of my second game and completely forgot about that whole culture thing. Now my capital planet is down to 60% allegiance and dropping fast. I think it's time to start my third game.
Quick question: Is that in an MP game or against the AI? (I ask because I've yet to hear whether the computer uses cu
do you guys know, when it lauches in Europe? I live in the Netherlands and I can't find when it launches in my country. I've heard a rumor that it doesnt come out in Europe at all!!! This would be a disaster!

I live in the UK, cant find it anywhere. Play.com dont have it, GAME (the UK arm of EB) dont have it, so please enlighten me. I realise us UK gamers regularly get screwed over by US games companies, but at least give us a clue.
Unfo

I've not really seen this question addressed yet: In addition to the capital ships, do cruisers and frigates level up as well? If so, what benefits do they gain? (More hit points, better weapons, etc.?)

Greetings, Drokmed! From one BOTF player to another, I welcome you. :HOT: If you've not done so already, I would definitely follow Piznit's advice to start on a new map -- this time making sure to set stars, planets, and habitable planets all to Abundant. I would then choose the Large map size, as this should give you roughly the same number of planets to colonize/conquer as you would star systems in BOTF. (Of course, you can always play on the bigger maps to

From what I've read of people's comments thus far, I would say to go with Option D: Allow the players to adjust the frequency of pirate attacks. It sounds like that's more of an issue than how powerful they are.
If you think Medieval 2 was a "graphical upgrade to Rome" you didn't play it for very long. The battlefield strategy was entirely different as were a lot of empire-level features. Try going back to Rome after a few months with Medieval 2. It's hard to do.
decemberscalm has the right of it -- Medieval 2 is indeed little more than a medieval skin of RTW. It had the same dumbed-down combat system as Rome, and the same dumb AI as Rome. It's mostly style over substan

Fantasy strategy games have always appealed to me, but I've never been sure which ones I would enjoy. In addition, I have a few requirements that said game would need to fulfill, and I have no idea whether or not any of the fantasy titles out there would qualify. So I'll just list what I'm looking for, and hopefully someone here can tell me if there's a game (or games) out there that would fit: 1.) I'm looking for a turn-based empire-building title -- think Civilization crossed with Lo
