But it doesnt defend your planets like Starbases in MOO2 did, so invading fleets can fly around them to invade your planet Yeah, Birth of the Federation is like that as well. I apologize for comparing GalCiv 2 to yet another space strategy game, but I agree that the ability to use military starbases to directly defend planetary invasions woul

I believe they do have some connections with Firaxis. Could be wrong though. One of the Civ4 developers was a beta-tester for GalCiv 2 (although I forget his name). Brad has credited the fellow for dispensing suggestions and advice that helped a lot to make the game better.
Heh, I know what you mean, ShunterAlhena. My computer technically can't even *run* GalCiv 2 (RAM and CPU are both well below requirements), and it crashes every other time I try to save. ....And yet, I've still spent more hours playing this game in the last 5 days than I've spent playing other games so far this year! There's something just nutty about that.
I know I've seen it posted elsewhere at least once, but I still felt the review should have its own thread. I feel that perhaps the article's author was a bit harsh with his comments about the graphics, interface, and AI. Aside from that, however, I think he did a pretty good job of reviewing the game. It's obvious he's been playing GalCiv 2 quite a bit since he first got it. ;) My personal favorite line from the author's review is when he's talking about getti
GalCiv III we were thinking would make use of imperial focus points. LOL! Brad, I'm glad I'm already familiar with your sense of humor, because otherwise that sentence would probably have given me a heart attack.
Oh man, that is....wrong. Just so....wrong!
You're now the highest rated turn based space sim of all time guys. That's something. Indeed; even the venerable MOO2 only managed a rating of 8.7! Congratulations to all Stardockians!
hey when will we be able to buy the tshirts soon? I second this question. When will they available for general purchase?
LOL. That's not a phrase I've ever heard before....
Much as I kinda hate to support the dread lords of Wal*Mart, I'm begining to see them as the best place to pick up hard to find, even indi titles. Much as I hate Wallyworld, I agree with you. I wish now that I had just cancelled my pre-order with EB Games and gone out and bought the friggin' game at Wal Mart. When I got home from work, howeve
Sorry, I don't (no camera). Here's where you can purchase it, though: http://www.cafepress.com/orderofthestick.39094843
Holy crap. I knew the tech tree was huge, but DAMN.... That's awesome!
And second, I ment to spell it "Evilgasm" Third: I..Kind of stole it from The Order Of The Stick, That strip is definitely one of my favorites from OOTS. I actually got the shirt with that line on it.
Here's a planet you want to hang to... Holy crap, man! Is that really a 68-class planet??
Damn Feud, that's insane! I wonder how it's even possible, though, since I'm pretty sure I remember reading on more than occasion that planets can't go higher than 30. A bug, maybe? Well either way, if you wind up going to war with the Iconians, better make that planet your first target!
Well, I finally got around to finishing my first game (spent a lot of time just messing around first). I won it culturally, and then the ending video came up... There were so many things that were *funny* in that video, particularly the iKorx and the super-deformed chibi aliens... oh, my, goodness. I was keeled over laughing! Can't wait to see what the other videos
BTW, with regarsd to the tech tree thing, if necessary, I'd be willing to make sure we get enough of those things so that we can physically mail them to anyone who requests one that got the first batch of the retail game. Your the customer after all. It doesn't matter who's at fault. It's OUR responsibility to make sure you are happy with the purchase regardless of wher
I'm not cancelling my preorder, as annoying as it might be. Nor am I, Lucian--frustrating though it may be. I want to support Stardock as best as I'm able. Besides, I want the extra goodies that come with the pre-ordered Collector's Edition.
But why are there so few of the battlreports? Can't you guys make a few every day? Brad is really the only one who has time to do these; and even he's a little busy, as he's answering questions in the forums constantly and continually working on improving the AI. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/Wink.gif" border=0 ALIGN="
Also playing some BotF (Glad to see I'm not the only one.) Citizen Martok, you playing with the Ultimate Mod? Sadly, no; I'm so hopelessly computer illiterate, that I've never been able to figure out how to install any mods onto the game. I've therefor
Race: Arceans or Yor (probably Yor, although I haven't decided yet) Galaxy size: max Opponents: max Number of stars: max Number of planets: max Number of habitable planets: max Clusters: tight Difficulty: beginner I have no illusions when it comes to setting the difficulty level. If the gamma testers are getting bitch-slapped on Challenging, I know I probably won't stand a chance even on Normal! <img src="http://images.stardock.co
Pre-ordered from EB. So far I have managed to resist checking my email to see if they've shipped it out yet. (Martok starts singing "Waiting is the Hardest Part" by Tom Petty.....)
I orderd pre-ordered from EB games, so I'll have to wait. How come you didn't release a demo? Yeah, I pre-ordered from EB too. The waiting is making me crazy!!! Okay, it's making me crazi-ER.... Must....have....game..... Can't stop....uncontrollable....twitchin
Ouch man. If that is in fact the case, then everyone "across the pond" has my pity.
Another American here. I live in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Here its like 45 F / 7.22 C and its drizzling, I'm sad that it hasnt snowed this year Heh. You only say that because you don't live where I live.
