I think if you watch Firefly with an open mind, you'll agree that it was victim of network stupidity. If that show were just being developed now for HBO or Showtime, it would be huge because of how much grittier it would be.
I'm familiar with Joss Whedon's work, and I've watched plenty of the Buffyverse shows to know it well, but the quality dipped thereafter, especially with Dollhouse. Having an "open mind" has nothing to do with anything. T

Great back story and memorable, unique characters.
That's an example of a show that was all over the place. The first season was shit, but the 2nd to 4th ones was a continuing trend of epicness, but it settled back to shit in the end

Arguable, shows that don't succeed after the first season, are not worth your time, despite what the fanboys claim. They only stil

Obliviously, I'm not very interested in the mod. I am interested in seeing people pool their efforts into finishing outstanding mods first, though.
Which ones?
Specifics, eh? If I recall, and this is based on the old models, it was all of them minus the Jelmi and Skylark of Valeron. I didn't care, but a friend pointed it out to me long ago. Got a good laugh out of it.

There is no point in asking a small studio to rewrite their game by this point. It's money, labor, and time they don't have the resources for. Your best bet is whenever a Sins II equivalent comes out. Money made off of Rebellion and Dark Age are probable going in

It's not worth arguing.
Like Zombie said, something to read minidumps would work best. A community manager, like what you see on other forums, would be nice, too.

We're damn close to another public release though and we will be receiving input on bugs and balance issues, although after our next and final Entrenchment release (except for bugfix patches hopefully) we're moving straight to Rebellion with no Diplomacy release.
That's cool, but you're missing the main point: [quo
My ideas ( https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/407617/page/55/#3208995 ) will be tested this week. I finally finished updating my mod today. I don't know if 1.04 will be giving me any grief, but we'll see.
Maybe updating DS to 1.04 would require less than I think, but doing my mod seemingly took forever. Dunno if I'll bother with this considering I want to focus on implementing new ideas and incorporating more content. I need to get it done by Friday. When do you think you guys will be pumping out a 1.04 version or are you holding out until the next regular release?
7 Deadly Sins started off in a similar fashion: radically alter gameplay, add a crapload of new content, use Sins models where needed.
Yeah, but it's also notoriously buggy. There is no point in throwing in as many models that one can get their hands on, let alone, needing 10+ factions. If you're going to break up the factions, at least, do it like Rebellion did. I'll let you know if you did good after I go through the customary research and ship balancing. I never could understand why you intend on giving all the new races as much research as possible. They don't need it and it screws with the balancing of the game. Your models and abilities (save replication being buggy) have always been solid, though. Yes, this includes even when the Norlamin capital ships looked like flying metal dildos. [e digicons]:dog:[/e]

Granted, it's much lower on nonphase missiles, but it works fine. You just need to find the balance needed.

On Sunday, I'll be updating my mod. If all goes well, and there are no major issues, I'll see about doing a compatibility patch for the rebellion DS release. Of course, it's 100% unofficial, and only intended to hold you over until they do their next update. No promises, though.

Why do you care? It's on a different, modern game engine with different potentials, even then, all the games I play against involve at least 3 humans and use mods. I know your playing against at least 1 AI. That game also hasn't been artillery and shield spammed to hell (like all my games end up being). Do that, and get 3+ hours into the game, and you'll see what I'm talking about.

I think the limit is hardcoded, but there's a list of prestock names you can change in the string file. Should start around line 1749 or so (looking at my mod, at a glance). Just make sure to change it in a mod, and not the core file.
We need to update this thread: https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/427240

We knew about the patch ahead of time, and I didn't have to work today. I set aside some time for modding (first time I've touched Sins in weeks, been busy with Terraria, check the modder Q&A thread). If I had to wait on you for the 1.04 files, I would have wasted a good 4 hours of time that I could have spent on Sins.
