Would have been nice to have known that several hours ago. Thanks, Obama. [e digicons]

I have the exact same file size, file name, and referencing as my 1.1 mod, and yet, it's not properly overriding. I had both HUD window files up in WinMerge to ensure I didn't screw up in any coding. It's the same. The ingame HUD top and bottom panels aren't changing. Can anyone confirm if this is a bug?
Had I played DS, I probable could come up with something. I stopped sometime before Rebellion came out. Wasn't any reason when I have the same community resources (TSOP, Sins Plus, etc) in my mod. :-\
I don't like the "There is no discernable way for a lay modder to read the Dev.exe minidumps" answer. My latest crashes yield a truncated Debug.txt and have no constructive information in them. I have the latest drivers and have validated the files in Steam through the Properties menu. There has to be a way to debug this game without speaking an obscure language that only computers seem to really understan

It doesn't say it is compliant, so, no. Besides, many research files have added values on them now (related to DLC ID numbers).
Why bother with Windows 8 to begin with?
Quoting onehung, reply 15 I messaged him a while ago about getting permission to update it and never got a response.
You shouldn't need permission to update an abandoned mod. Just don't take credit for it or change the created content.
I have to update over 500 files by hand for it to be 1.5x. How many do you think he'd have to do?
besides that It did add more blooms to it.
That's what I'm saying, you have color correction and SSAO in use, but yet, all it looks like is somebody tweaked the ingame gamma slider. I'm still looking for a reason to use this as I'm interested, but won't run a 5 hour game, myself, to test the impact it has on performance. ENBs typically inject into the game extra graphical paramet
Looks like somebody adjusted the gamma, that's it. Not worth the typical FPS loss you get from ENB.
Damned double post.
ENB shouldn't have much effect performance wise as theres no real technical shadow rendering, it's mostly straight forward with no flashy effects like first/third person games. Also theres no DoF things either which are often causes of FPS drops in shooters using ENB (see Bokeh DoF for Skyrim as an example).
We've already had a hell of a time optimizing the game to be better, and playable, in a late game setting
if the late game becomes laggy or stuttering you can deactivate it by pressing shift+F12.
The idea is to barely have ANY performance impact. That's it. That's why you don't normally have ENBs with strategy games. Maybe you can find a nice medium in it.
How much of a late game performance impart will you get? That's what matters.
If a mod was to be released, and nobody played it, did it ever exist?
I don't think Rebellion was as bad as Sword of the Stars 2...but Rebellion MP was unplayable for several months, and when the game finally did become stable, we still had to put up with grotesque balance issues that made some factions and several features often banned...Rebellion is fine now, especially with the v1.5 update, but so is SotS 2... Harpo, your first post is a god damned mess.
Look at all the bitching in here. If it's too hard, turn down the difficulty (you have more than 3 presets for a reason), or find what the issue is, and mod it out. Problem solved. On a side note, I haven't played the new AI yet, but I'll be happy to play once my mod is fully converted over. The mod is tech level expansions, racial/planetary (making each race/planet more unique) rebalancing , dramatically increased importance on roletypes, and gam
