LOTS of morale and pop. growth bonus, half of my planets being "M" class planets (commercial centers) ("M" for money, where morale and economic building being 90% of the buildings.). I also have "F" class planets, for factories (Shipyards), "R" class planets (research colonies). Sometimes, "I" class, for influence (I call them "Negociating grounds") I just wonder if I should have given more Conqueror Cruiser to the drengin, to cripple more efficiently the Altarians and the Arc

The war went.. on an average, against the Arcean. Until the first Corvette BM-1 arrived massively on the front line, our fleet used a tactic of attrition. On a whole, our Blood Patrol-4 and 5 and Attack Gunship-1, 2 and 3 were of much higher power than the Arcean's vessels, and our fleet were equally matched in term of numbers. But they outnumbered us by 2 to 1. We simply gathered all our fleet on a nevralgic point (known as the 3-Corners). It was at the former border between our empir

We were a simple race. We grew on our homeworld, called Toria, and were happy to live, and let live. Until the Drengin came. Those brutal and dangerous being surprised us, and took control of our entire specie, for millenias. Until we grew strong ennough to drive them off. But never again, will our kin be the same. Now, with the help of the humans, we have managed to free ourselves from Toria alone, and feel ready expand, in order to survive, whenever the Drengins will come back. <b

These cute, cuddly, ADORABLE seal pups are worth more than ANY unwashed Islamo-Fascists' life, IMHO. Wow.. I just... wow.. I mean you.. you really MEAN that an animal life may be worth more than a human's? You really mean that because Greenpeace pointed the finger at us for the seals, that we are one of the worst country ever? that it discretite

I post game ideas on SD's forum because I consider GalCiv (the serie) to be as close as my ideal game as it is currently possible, but there is still so much room for improvement (kinda paradoxal.. the game is just great, but could be even better). I have absolutly no competence in video game programming, being a mathematic/finance student, the only way I can help this game improving is: - buying the game (already done) - buy Star Dock's bonds or shares, but it's out of reach for me

yhea. But in frontier war, orbital constructions were the ONLY kind of structures available. Here, I was more thinking of *deluxe* buildings, kinda vulnerable to attacks from any ships or pirates. So it would be more like a peace-time bonus.

I usually uses a simple name for usual rank-and-file ships, based on designation (Corvette/frigate for medium, patrol/bomber for small, fighter for tiny) (like Corvette BM-1, BM-2, etc..). But for late game, large and huge ship, I give them a name. In the last one, I had 2 end-of-game ships. the "Conqueror Cruiser-1", which I won the war against the altarian. (equipped with 15 beam attack, 10 mass driver attack, 12 shields and 6 armor, all BEFORE race adj.). (The galaxy used pretty much

It would be nice if we could impliment orbital structures into the game. You know, things built with the spaceport that can't leave the planet. Like sensor array, defensive station, orbital shipyards, etc.. It would allow to build more than the usual limit on a planet, but these construction would be vulnerable to ennemy raids.

a starbase will have sensors if you decide to build some on them. same for planets. Planets will have sensor array only if you build some. I don'T see why a ship could not orbiting a planet, unknown to all... In Birth of the Federation, you could build an improvement on a planet that gaved sensor power. Really usefull for worlds at the border of the Romulan Empire. edit: to correct mistake and add last paragraph.

16) If a world breaks free from occupation ALONE, without any help from it's mother-empire, it becomes a independant power. 17) If your transports reach an occupied world, you can a) Liberate the world, thu making it an independant world who loves you b) simply changes the oppressors

I know, I know. 135743 posts about if we should include them into the game. I though it seriously, and I may have a good idea how to impliment them in a nice way: Levels of identification: 1- Nothing out here, captain 2- Something appeared on our sensor, Captain. Probably an anomaly 3- There is someone in a cloaking device over there! 4- The cloaking device has a drengin signature. 5- This is the old Battle Frigate X-2 with a class-4 Cloaking device, nothing

Okay, here are a few ideas: 1)- Population growth should be max to an average of +5%/year. Making the pop. growth very very slow. That way, homeworlds are always top-priority worlds, and colonies will always be limited on the population, but have a great power military/research (think of Asimov's "Robots and the Empire", Earth's colonies posseded about 95% of Earth's military power, while the Earth was the majority of the population). The Homeworlds are the Heart of your Empire, while c

I just finished a game, playing the Torians. My population was almost the double of the 2nd highest player in the game, but being a Torian with a lot of Morale bonus, I guess it's normal. But when I look at the graph, I see something I see in everygame: the Economic graphic. My line NEVER ever stop getting up, with 30 degree inclination, while all the AI's linger below me, with a barely 20 degree inclination. I play at "intelligent". On basic paper, I always have more tech, mo

Planetary Bombardment You can set a group of ship in orbit of a planet, ordering them to bombard it. Every turn, you cause 0-(* of attacking point) % of population casualties, and has 0-(* of attacking point) of chance destroying 1 planet tile, turning it into "devastated area". Devastated area can be restored via the terraforming tech branch. To bombard a planet is a dangerous thing, politicly and military. You fleet opens itself to attack, and they lose the iniative

I always keep "sleeper" ships, with long-range and speed, into everybody's deep territory (even peacetime, just in case..), just to mess things around with freighters, constructors and transports
