Hey Chad *s*. What could possibly be keeping you so busy you're just now getting around to checking here?!?! /me contemplates setting fire to the seat of Chad's pants
Sylva
I was wondering why we hadn't seen anything new from you in a while Merc. Glad to see you're still around though *s*.
It's Rebirth. I got the graphics to refresh finally. There is a folder in the skins directory under the windows xp theme section. I just deleted it and reloaded the WB skin and was able to see the updates I made to it. Thanks for offering though David *s*
The main problem is that a few images just didn't look right, and since I didn't have a way to check them on my own I had to trust what other people said. Right now I mostly need to find a way to get OB to actually "re-load" the images and code. It doesn't seem to want to update it's own conversion of the WB skin.
Well, I finally broke down and decided to try object bar and I noticed that the two WB skins that have XP features don't convert to OB very well. I've seen other skins that work perfectly well so I know it has to be my skins that are the problem and not the program. The problem is that after I made some changes, I can't get it to load into object bar. It keeps loading the same images and code as before. After several reboots I even ended up un-installing and re-installing OB, but still
I'm also on a 56k and sometimes it takes close to 5 minutes for a page to load. But I know a couple of people on 56k with no problems at all. I think I've heard similar stories with cable and DSL connections too. /me quietly awaits crae and his "too many nested tables" speach
geesh... and I thought jumping out of bed in the middle of one of those ...um.... "intimate moments" just cause I got a new idea was bad....... *weg*
not me... but my daughter's is march 10
When I first started out I usually listened to my daughter banging pots and pans together (no wonder my work was awful!). Now that she is in school I'm forced to find some other source of inspiration *weg*. When I am first coming up with ideas, I usually listen to anything from early-mid 90's hard rock to jefferson airplane. Once I get the idea rolling and start doing detail work I end up putting on country music.
let me add it up real quick. 3 hours before my daughter wakes up in the morning. Then another 7 hours while she is in school. Plus another hour in the evening. Then about 3 more after my daughter is asleep at night. That's 14 hours on weekdays. On weekends a little less. And less than a third of that is spent online. The rest of it I am either skinning for enjoyment, or doing some freelance graphic work here and there. No wonder I walk around like a zombie all the time!
is it possible that was a mis-understanding of some sort? there have been times I'd press submit and the page would reload without the message.
Sorry then froggy... seen so many conflicting stories since then, I guess I got them mixed up *s*
Actually crae, I think it was just a litle bit after that had started to settle, when Shog was supposed to be an admin here and for some reason got bumped. I've heard on the message board what happenned, but I never heard Shoggot's point of view about it.....might be kinda interesting to know though.
I may have one or two up my sleeve..... *weg*
Dave, if you're starting feel like that, the best thing you can do is step back and not skin for a little while. Wait just a few days, or if you're like me, a few weeks. And as far as comments go, the download count is the most important comment you can get if you just want to be recognized. A lot of people will comment on a skin without even downloading it, so how much weight can you really put on those comments?
oh, for the hover colour value, you select the # of the color preset....
click "insert" in the menubar select "Colour#" when that 'section' opens up, put in the rgb value of the colour you want. then in the buttons section right click "add attributes" then pick "colour hover". It'll work in the tabs, task, and buttons. but I think it's disabled in the toolbars..not sure though.
It's slow for me too, and I'm running IE (both 5 and 6). I think it probably has more to do with connection speed (hey, we can't all be lucky enough to have cable *s*).
about 3 or 4 days I think. I was wondering the same thing. But I also didn't want to be the first to ask......
sure am glad to see I'm not alone in that....
hehe...MadIce *s* I read somewhere that certain plug-ins actually slow down windows when they are in use but I can't find the article again. Does anyone here know where I can find that? If not, know which ones they are?
hmmm... thanks for the answers guys *s*
I've never been one much for actually using the WB plugins (like winamp controls, winmenu, clocks, etc..). I was just wondering how many people here really do find them usefull? Would you download a skin just because those controls are there? Would them not being included in the skin prevent you from downloading it? blah blah blah........ just curious *s*
oops... sorry, I assumed you meant wb2. /me hits herself on the head with a frying pan
do you have WB set to open on start-up? it's in the system tab of the config dialogue, under the "Startup Options" section.
