Baker's right. It's the whole round objects with a water/clouds background that throws it off. It's been done at least once by just about every person who has ever installed bryce on their computer. If you take a similar object and put it in front of a background that you created yourself in something like Photoshop or psp, then tone down the blue chrome effect and connect it all to something else, it might work.

I'd really like a way to specify two or more color changes when using color masks for custom color skins. Would there actually be a way to do that (might have to use more than one mask image for each section though, don't know) or do you think it would just slow it all down too much?
I agree with Koasati on the permission thing. It may not be seen as neccessary here, but I think that if you want to throw together other people's stuff, even if it is only links to the files, you should respect the original authors enough to ask. Or at least let them know so they can see what you've come up with.
Joe, the million dollar ones are the ones that the admins seems to "forget" for a couple of days. Then there are the 50 cent ones that are up for only a couple of hours *s*.
Not all areas are equipped for ADSL yet. Not to mention it's too expnsive for a lot of us. /me goes to sit next to Randy and that WiseOldMan up there. I have a 56k connection too. On those rare occasions I can actually connect it barely goes to 28.8.
/me wonders how long it will take for froggy to be seen as a villian for cancelling them now *s* afterall, some people feel as though they must complain about everything... and Brad is so easily blameable. /me runs and hides
/me hates Snowy and motion. *mumbing* stuck with a friggin 56k and rarely downloads skins anymore.. not enough time to upload skins hardly anymore and they get theirs in just a few seconds. ......blah... blah blah... blah .... blah... actually, I usually don't even have time to do much more than look at the topics on the message board and maybe check out the WB section.
Joe, it's really just a front end for IE. I started skinning on NP. Till I found out there were other programs to skin I thought I could never do without it. If I hadn't run across WB I'd still be skinning it (if the newer versions didn't crash my computer, that is). I just hope no one can find those skins anymore.... Just the thought of those coming back to haunt me gives me the shakes... eww....
....nevermind...... Ijust figured it out. I accidentally had the toggle button linked to another one....I don't know how I missed it before. /me bangs her head against a brick wall
Actually, the winamp controls are working fine. It's the button I'm using to show/hide the winamp controls that I am having to press twice in order to get the controls themselves to show up on the window. Thanks anyway though.
yeah, yeah, I know.... you're probably going to tell me to post it to the news group, but I hate news groups..... so I'm posting it here. I was wondering if anyone was willing to help me figure out why the toggle button has to be pressed twice to open the winamp controls on a skin I am working on. It only happens the first time I open them after opening a new window (all programs). After that, they work normally. I've checked all the visibility settings, actons, etc. against o
Sorry. I'm feeling a little immature tonight *s*.
geesh... all this shameless self promotion. I would never place a link to http://sylvadesigns.eyes.at on such a thread.... why would I ever cheapen http://sylvadesigns.eyes.at in such a way. Shame on all of you! oh, btw... my site is http://sylvadesigns.eyes.at hehehe
I'm not gonna say goodbye...... cause I know as soon as I get really excited about releasing a skin I think is absolute perfect (no, that doesn't happen often), you'll release an even better skin just to prove me wrong *s* Relax and enjoy your break *s*. See ya around soon.
I really need to try using gimp again. I just never could get used to the interface.... I'm too scatterbrained I guess *s*.
The only thing I can think of is copying each frame one by one into a strip image. I'm not sure if there are any other programs to do it for you. If gimp won't let you see the frames as layers, try jasc's animation shop (comes with paint shop pro)and paste each frame into gimp.
nuvem, jafo, and a think a couple other people did too.
Dangeruss's "orange cream" theme wouldn't be Dream would it?
Out of the skinners who have been around a while, I would have to say Koasati and Davidk. They both skin the way they want to skin, without thinking more about what's popular than what they like themselves. They are both very helpful to newbies without being condescending (usually). As far as newer skinners, there are so many with a lot of great potential I don't think I could choose *s*. Unfortunately I'm very concieted, so I'll have to say that my favorite skin is whate
I agree with reaper. I've seen some WB skins that are close to 1 meg already. Add a wallpaper with different sizes in the zip and that would end up making it a pretty big file with just those two things.
geesh..... and I thought it was strictly an anti-Sylva web-site. *s*
When you uninstalled and re-installed did you manually delete the object bar directory? that's what I had to do. It took me a couple tries, but I finally got it working right.
I'd also jump at the chance, but I deffinatley agree with Hippy about a pre-arranged agreement as to terms of re-sale and such. But the only way I could see it actully working out in such a way would be if it was a themed suite commissioned by someone promoting a specific product that the skinner would not have rights to sell on his/her own due to copyright laws regarding the subject matter.
I know this msounds simple, so I am probaly way off, but have you tried clicking on the little arrow next to the systray? Or is it a skin that completely removes the taskbar?
http://sylva.deviantart.com thanks for the interest *s*
