I thought he is pointing out a bug. It seems that sometimes when you uninstall wb, it doesn't uninstall cleanly so you have to reinstall and uninstall through SC. It may seem like a small thing to some people, but if you wanted to return your computer to the original state, say if you wanted to sell it or something, it might be more important not to have bits and pieces of programs sticking around. Maybe I understand... If you  uninstall the information is still there.  So you have to go into SC to reinstall it, then uninstall it again and having done that you have to leave SC open while you reboot and only then the WB information is gone?

So whenever you uninstall the program, no matter what you do, in the system display properties, the windowblinds information is still there under the appearance tab?

The version WB I got today was 4.38b[a].002
.... that's  a whole lot of trust in one measly teeny weeny itty bitty little rope! 
It is possible to do.  You go into the meter configuration for that node and make changes (but I don't know how).  For that object I found it easier to access the meter config through the DX list view.  It would not be possible to remove one.

I remember that one wouldn't load for me correctly so I dl to a folder, unzipped it, and then pasted the folder in my themes folder.  There were a couple like that.

Isn't 3.2 newer than 3.03?  Wouldn't it go up to 3.1 and then to 3.2 and so on to 3.9 and then 4?

Hello Sylvian, there is a new WB update today that seems to address those issues. Perhaps you can reinstall wb with this latest version and then uninstall. It is a beta build and you have to have OD configured to show beta and alpha builds in order to see the very latest. I imagine people might get asked quite often what build of product one is using so therefore try to provide as much advance information as possible. I do that myself often. [Message Edited]
I figure even if I never used it myself, one day someone would show up in a world of trouble and maybe I could help them with it.  I use winpatrol and firewall and usually one pops up with changes to registry, start menu, host files...  I just don't trust that it will always work every time.

from lavasoft:  This VX2 variant registers itself in a way, which gives it system privileges. It also prevents the user from viewing this information by removing the user’s rights to do so. Furthermore it constantly monitors the registry and prevents any attempts to remove its associated values. This makes it very difficult for the user to manually remove it. I think that is  horrible! <

Lavasoft has made a VX2 cleaner plugin. VX2 is an especially difficult piece of malware and it is advisable for you to have the tool already on your computer before you are exosed to the pest. Thank you for the heads  up ama02.  It looks like the offer has been removed.  It is good to remember that transfer of a product and it's code is against the EULA.  It is also good to see that that forum seems to respect that.
