My guess for all the close-ups of the grass & plants is that they are trying to make this OS seem more organic then previous ones. I'm not really a fan of the whole "Aero-Glass" look, MS claims it makes the window less distracting (mind you I find it more distracting/annoying then ever before). I just hope you can change the opacity of the window instead of it being transparent all the time.
I really like the refined look of Windows Vista but it reminds me a bit of Mac OSX Tiger with "Desktop Gadgets" which looks like the Widgets on Mac and "Search Bar" (which looks oddly similar to Mac's spot light). I think MS should use this oppertunity to regain the lead on Mac who have come out with some really innovative stuff (ie. OSX Pather & Tiger, G5 processors, iPod, etc.). I'm a die-hard MS fan, however it's been more and more difficult to stay
Doesn't Vista look a bit like Mac's OSX Tiger? Not only the "Widgets" but also the "search bar" which looks very much like Mac's Spotlight... or maybe it's the other way around and Mac stole Windows ideas, cuz OSX Tiger is just an upgrade whereas Vista is a whole new OS.
