Diplomatical : Chances are that certain files from the full version of the game have been overwritten by the trial version. I don't believe that there are settings in the registry or otherwise that act as a flag, telling GalCiv2 whether it's the full version or the trial (This would be too easy to workaround, otherwise). I have never experienced an issue myself when importing objects or widgets and do so fairly often. It sounds like you're already aware, but images, scripts, sounds for current objects that are running end up being stored in %userprofile%\Local Settings\Application Data\Stardock\DesktopX\CurrentTheme The thing with objects, they're just actually renamed .zip files.
