A few months ago I opened up a new skin template in skinstudio and started changing images. My goal was simply to learn Skinstudio so I could make my own skins. Now after changing around 95% of the default images I am ready to move on. I have several ideas that I can't wait to get started on. I agree. If you want a weather widget that looks like X, reverse engineer one of the ones out there. That is easy enough. But is that for personal use only or can that be done with the intent of uploading it here. I may not know how to write scripts but I know I can edit them to suit my needs. My thought was that using someone elses script in your widget was basically a rip, regardless of what graphics were used, or changes made. Thats why I haven't experime

I would like to learn how to make some widgets with DX. In particular, any or all of the following: a Calendar, a Weather widget, ToDo List, Media Player, Clock, and Meters for Drives, CPU, Memory etc. It would also be great if there was a guide to show us how to add simple animations to them. Just for the record I pointed this out to the people running the contest on May 17th. I sent them an email to let them know that their were strong similarities between his skins and other peoples work. I also provided links to the original skins here on wincustomize so they could see for themselves. I compared pixtudios Nvidea skin to his Poison skin which also used Foood's iCandy Jr icons, Longhorn Plex M5 by Voodoo_Freak to his Longhorn skin, And Kols Sustanance to his Slate skin.

See if you can add the image as a glyph. I did this for the places list and it worked nicely for me. When you click on the programs panel area in the preview and look to the window at the far right top you should see the programs list image, and underneath along with margins, text, etc their should be an attribute called glyph image. That way you have two separate images with different margins, the glyph sitting on top of the program panel image. I

I normally like to keep a low profile but I'll tell you a few things about me. I am 37 yrs old and I live in Tampa, Florida. Although I haven't done much artwork in years, I love to draw. I am just now learning how to create computer graphics and I am currently working on a WB skin. With my time being limited, its taking longer than I expected but its fun. I am glad someone else found that disturbing. Unfortunately that was my first impression. Since then I have seen some really good things being said and done. I will start commenting going forward.
