Heh. I did, and wow, what a difference. And let me take this moment to congratulate the creaters of the Omega Pack. Well done.

Gah. Misread. 1.04.
I've been trying to use mods now for a few days but I'm having difficulties. I don't see a Mods folder in my GalCiv folder, and even when I create one, it doesn't seem to load. I've tried looking in the prefs file for 'enablemods', and there is no field. I also don't see one in the options screen. Just above 'Background Loading' it says 'User Defined PlayList'. I am running GC 1.4. Anyone help?
Greetings. Just joined this evening. Been playing for a couple months now and joined the metaverse a month back. First empire that I've joined.. hope to earn you guys some good points.
Not sure about the monsters. I've always had difficulties dealing with them. As for the UP, I think it's determined by cultural influence (?). I'm probably wrong.. it's probably a combination of several statistics.
You can't form an alliance at "Friendly" level. You have to be "Close", which is the next step up. Once you reach that with another race, you can form the alliance.
My first thought is that you might have used an invasion tactic to gain access to the planet that might have lowered it's planet quality (PQ) drastically enough to where your citizens didn't like it one bit. If the PQ of the planet isn't 15 or above, you need to build Soil Enhancement and/or Habitat Improvement as soon as possible. Second, raising cultural influence doesn't raise morale. You'd need to build improvements on the system to raise the morale (entertainment network, for examp
Hm. Not sure if you got it fixed, but just noting that I got GC recently and my version is 1.4, not 1.22. I also have Windows XP home version and I haven't had any problems.
Something not mentioned here is that fleeted transport ships will combine their forces in a ground assault. So instead of 4 1000 million attacks, you can do one attack with 4000 million troops.
heh well actually i found a way around the problem. for anyone else that has this problem, here's what i did to fix it: look in your galactic civ folder for a file called install.txt or somesuch. open it and scroll down to near the end where it starts saying things like regdb name, regdb key etc. in there, i found a listing for the serial number on my cd set.
well i saw that someone asked this a bit before so i took the steps necessary. looks like the key doesn't work. oh well. guess that means i won't be buying anymore stardock or strategy first games. later.
hello. i'm new to the metaverse. i've had galaxy civ for about five months now and i love it. i want to get on here but the problem is in the move from a different state, i think my code got tossed in the trash. i know exactly where i got the game. i can even remember which rack it was on in the store. is there some way to get registered? i have the cds right here in front of me, just don't have the booklet anymore due to some stupid parents.
